Showing off centuries-old traditions, a gorgeous Mediterranean coastline and quite frankly delicious cuisine, it’s no wonder Bodrum and the surrounding region is one of Turkey’s most tempting treasures. Explore it with a spring fling in April and we think you’ll see Bodrum at its best…

Just the right temperature
If you’re wondering what the weather is like in Bodrum in April, we’re talking sweet springtime temps of up to 22°C. It’s T-shirt weather for sure, but mild enough to squeeze in plenty of sightseeing without getting too hot and bothered. Turkey’s well known for its sizzling summer days, so this could be the ideal balance if you’re after slightly cooler climes.

Plenty of things to see and do
Bodrum boasts a long list of things to fill your time – and April’s quieter days mean your plans don’t have to factor in queues, crowds or traffic.
First up, step back in time to uncover Bodrum’s 15th-century castle and awe-inspiring ruins. Feeling beachy? Sink your toes into one of Altinkum’s top-notch sandy spots and you’ll be treated to knockout views whichever way you look. If it’s relaxing on the move you’re in the mood for, then a bay-hopping boat trip has your name written all over it – just don’t forget your camera.
And make sure you swing by a traditional bath house and try your hand at haggling in a bazaar for a true taste of Turkish life. You might even bag a bargain or two at this time of year!

Al fresco feasting
April in Bodrum still offers up plenty of opportunity for everyone’s favourite holiday pastime: al fresco wining and dining. You might just need a lightweight cover-up to throw on after the sun sets. Fresh seafood platters, moreish meze, local wine – it’s all on the menu here. You’ll find romantic, lantern-lit plots dotted along the region’s coastal resorts, but for A-list vibes and then some, turn your attention to the buzzy bars and terraces around Bodrum’s yacht-filled harbour. Oh, and keep your eyes peeled for the likes of Kate Moss making the most of the serener season…

Bodrum in bloom
Arguably the best reason to visit Bodrum in April is to appreciate its beyond-beautiful blooms. As you walk through bougainvillea-splashed street after street, your camera roll will thank you. Plus, all the scrummy, just-plucked spring veg will be making it onto your dinner plate – think wild greens, asparagus and artichokes. Yum.
