The Canary Islands
Gran Canaria

Why not round the year off surrounded by deserts, epic volcanoes and picturesque mountains? The year-round sun on this Canarian gem makes it a popular spot no matter the month. It’s a great contender for surfing, bustling nightlife and getting a taste of nature all in one. You can still experience the festive magic. There's even a yearly nativity scene sculpted from sand on Las Canteras Beach!
Fuerteventura
Average temperature: 22°
Fuerteventura’s December temperatures couldn’t complement this island’s Caribbean-esque beaches enough. Spending the day lounging by the soft sands and lapping waves or ticking off the sightseeing spots on your list is perfect here as it’s neither blistering nor chilly. Corralejo is the place to be if you’re still wanting your share of Christmas magic as you can find Christmas menus and an annual market in the harbour.
Top tip: InFusion or Seven Pints have Christmas day sittings and many other bars are open on the day in Corralejo.
Lanzarote
Average temperature: 22°
This UNESCO-protected biosphere reserve packs in lime-green lagoons and quirky caves, as well as superb resorts like Puerto Del Carmen and Playa Blanca. Wouldn’t you rather swap the wind and rain for a sunny bike ride through volcanic vineyards? We think so.
Tenerife
Average temperature: 20°
Tenerife packs a mixed bag of entertainment, scenic views and exciting things to do. Why not lap up some rays before indulging in wine tasting or opting for a wellness retreat? It’s the ideal destination for all ages – couples, families and groups can enjoy all Tenerife has to offer. Although you’ll be making the most of the sunny fun, Mount Teide’s snow-crested peaks will still give you that wintery feel.
The Algarve
Average temperature: 17°
Portugal’s ochre-tinged cliffs look even more beautiful when the sun’s shining. Feeling the warmth on your back while you sit outside one of the Algarve’s buzzy bars or delicious restaurants is a feeling we wouldn’t want you to miss out on! So, do you fancy Albufeira, Lagos or Alvor? There are also top tier courses for the golf enthusiasts. Take note that Christmas Eve is usually the star of the show in Portugal. Loule Castle Christmas lights are a feast for the eyes too!
Antalya Area

Does roaming round ancient ruins or sprawling out on champagne sands sound like your ideal holiday? You can do both in Antalya. The resorts cater for all holidaymakers, with amazing family entertainment, lively nightlife and stylish complexes. There’s so much to do and you can get your dose of vitamin D while ticking them all off.
