Budapest

Start the new year in the Pearl of the Danube – Budapest. Famous for its culture and nightlife, this fairytale city provides the best two ingredients for an epic NYE. There are lots of locations to greet 2025 – quirky ruin bars, boat rides or maybe Fisherman’s Bastion for unrivalled views? Decide which side – Buda or Pest – it’s going to be for the fireworks at midnight and explore the other during the day! How’s that for a perfect plan? If you’re not sure which attractions to visit, read our guide to the top things to do in Budapest.

Paris

The City of Love is always a good idea but just imagine the magical atmosphere on New Year’s Eve. During the day, swirl around the sights in the city centre – The Louvre, Jardin du Luxembourg and Arc de Triomphe. There’s so much to do, you’ll definitely need more than one day, if not more than one trip! For midnight celebrations, we suggest either the top spot of Palais de Chaillot or heading up to Sacré-Cœur for cityscape views. Wherever you are in Paris, when the date swiftly changes, all eyes are on the Eiffel Tower – that will be a start of a year you won’t forget…

Barcelona

Catch the confetti when the clock strikes 12 in Barcelona this New Year’s Eve! This beautiful city is party-ready all year round, but you can expect even bigger things on New Year’s Day. Visit La Sagrada Familia and Park Güell during the daytime to make sure you’ve seen the main attractions before the electric night begins! There are so many ways to spend your evening too – rooftop bars, hilltops to gaze at the fireworks or romantic cruises over dinner… what’s it going to be?

Prague

Spend this New Year’s Eve on a city break in Prague, the fairytale Czech capital. Fireworks are the main focus here and it’s all about where you pick to watch them from. By the river, the atmosphere is fun and relaxed – perfect for families. Stand on Charles Bridge and watch the fireworks light up against a backdrop of the Old Town and Prague Castle. NYE is a great time to experience the amazing nightlife in Prague, too. We’re talking a jazz cruise down the River Vltava, a legendary pub crawl, or a party boat. One thing’s for sure – you’ll be starting the new year right!

FCO - Colosseum

Rome

Why not try a taste of Italy with a Rome city break this NYE? Start the celebrations with the traditional New Year’s Eve set dinner (cenone) in a local restaurant before heading to one of Rome’s impressive fireworks displays. Happening all across the city, you can head to the Colosseum to admire the lit-up sights or enjoy the free festival, La Festa di Roma, at Circus Maximus for a whole line-up of shows, activities and concerts. Either way, your Rome NYE is sure to be unforgettable.

Berlin

Join in the electric atmosphere of Berlin this New Year! With people all across the globe coming together, you can expect international DJs, wild events and all-night street parties. Head to Brandenburg Gate for one of Europe’s largest open-air parties which extends the entire two kilometres of the street and offers party tents, stages, food, fireworks and a light show. For the party-goers – it’s not one to be missed! Alternatively, opt for a skyline view of the fireworks from one of the many rooftop parties and bars. Klunkerkranich and Weekend are just two of the most popular. So get ready for a night of celebrating like no other this New Year.
