1. Zermatt, Switzerland

At the foot of the mighty Matterhorn, the gorgeous, critically-acclaimed Zermatt sits pretty. There’s 360km of easy, mid-level and tricky runs available for skiers, so it’s a sound choice if you’re a mixed-ability group. It’s also said to have snow throughout the year, so you’ll be fine for a short break or long stay in March.

Other entertainment includes the incredible Matterhorn glacier ride and après-ski that mixes gourmet meals with unmissable igloo bars and party pubs.

2. Saas-Fee, Switzerland

Experience Saas-Fee, a pretty Alpine village among the Swiss mountains. The slopes here tend to be above 2,500m, so you’re pretty much guaranteed reliable powdery snow. It’s a well-connected area with one of its lifts even being a 30-person gondola, plus there’s an underground funicular! If you’re on the lookout for a resort that caters for a large group, this is it.

Quite a lot of the runs are steep, but you’ll find a few easier ones to tackle if challenging pistes aren’t your bag. You can also go snowshoeing, tobogganing and spend your nights drinking and dining.
