You can’t really go wrong with the Canary Islands in winter, which is why we’ve included four on this list. Lanzarote ticks all the boxes for a sunny solo trip. With temperatures reaching up to 24C, you can soak up the rays at the Papagayo Beaches without the crowds of summer holidaymakers. Or if you’re seeking more adventure, why not take a hike up Montana Roja and take in the volcanic scenery and stunning views at the top?

Tenerife
With its year-round warmth, Tenerife is the ultimate winter sun destination. Here, you can lie back on one of its many beautiful beaches and soak up some sun and sea. But there’s also another side of Tenerife to discover on a solo trip. Hike through Masca Gorge and admire the natural beauty of deep caves and gentle waterfalls. Or if you fancy something less active, sample some Canarian wine at one of the island’s charming vineyards.

Gran Canaria
The most populated of the Canary Islands, there are plenty of places to explore in Gran Canaria. We’re talking the charming traditional town of Puerto Mogan, to the lively beaches and trendy clubs in Playa Del Ingles. Whatever you want from your solo holiday, Gran Canaria can deliver. If diving is your thing, you can also venture into the underwater world of the island to discover some beautiful sites.

Fuerteventura
Famous for its beaches and water sports, Fuerteventura is a hive of activity. Being close to the coast of Africa, this island's always warm so there are no winter blues here. You can enjoy sunsets over El Cotillo, try your hand at some surfing, explore the nature parks and do some serious shopping. For foodies, Fuerteventura won’t disappoint, with an array of international cuisine to try.
