The European event calendar’s still in full swing with top artists like Brina Knauss hopping from airport check-in desk to festival DJ decks faster than the speed of sound.

Between a non-stop summer playing everywhere from Paris to Ibiza, and ahead of her appearance at BEONIX Festival in Cyprus from 20-22 September 2024, we managed to grab five with the star...

Hi Brina. Tell us a bit about yourself and your musical background…

“My passion for music has always been massive, ever since I can remember. I was always the one searching for new tracks. That’s why, 10 years ago, I decided to switch from my modelling career to becoming a DJ. Music fulfils me and gives me life, and it’s something that I feel has always been a natural part of who I am.”

We see you’re doing a lot of travelling over the next couple of months. What are your suitcase essentials?

“Yes, the travel schedule is always heavy and intense, so I have to be smart with my packing. I always bring comfortable clothes for playing and a workout outfit, as I try to stay physically active no matter where I am.”

How are you feeling about BEONIX, have you played there before?

“Yeees, the venue, and of course the crowd, really make it special.”

Describe your music’s vibe in three words…

“Emotional, vibey, fun.”

How has your summer been? Any highlights?

“It’s been a long and intense summer of travelling. But even with the busy tour schedule, I found some time to relax and enjoy moments with friends – eating great food, dancing under the sun, and just having fun. It's hard to pick just one highlight from the past few months as I’ve collected so many special memories. However, a personal highlight has to be the new concept I filmed on 31 August. It was a hidden location party, and the entire set was recorded – I can’t wait to share it with the world!”

What type of holidays are you into – chilled, adventure, exploring?

“Considering my life is one big adventure, when I'm on holiday, I like to relax. But to be honest, it's hard to completely avoid the fun side too!”

Dream European destination?

“Ooof, hard decision here. To be fair, anywhere on the Italian coast where I can enjoy good food and a view of the blue waters, I adore it.”

What’s been your favourite venue to perform at?

“The highlight of this summer definitely has to be Cercle Festival, where I played on an abandoned plane. It was crazy! I loved it. Also, I have to mention the Medelin Core stage; the energy of the crowd was unreal, and the venue was magical.”

Anything exciting on the horizon that you can tell us about?

“A lot of exciting things await starting this month – I will be releasing a brand-new EP on my label, Empath, which I already can’t wait for you to listen to. Also, the first episode from my new video streaming concept “Search for the B” will be out very soon.”

Beer or cocktail?

“Cocktail.”

Nightclub or beach club?

“The vibes are completely different in both places and I love them both, so can't pick a favourite here.”

Street food or fancy dinner?

“A good pasta 😉"
