Jet2

Rated 4.8/5 stars

“The Jet2 app can help with all aspects of your holiday! I use it when I’m looking for my next trip and when I’ve found a few I like, I add my faves to my shortlist, then send them to people who are coming to get their thoughts. You can also check if there are any good deals or discounts available in your myJet2 account – I'd recommend getting one for the Perks too!”

“After booking, there’s nothing better than looking forward to your trip, so I love the countdown feature on there that shows how many months, weeks or days you’ve got left until you jet off!”

“It’s handy too if you want to add any travel essentials like bags or meals, without the need to call anyone! If like me, you’re a Type A person and love a list, then the holiday checklist feature will be your new best friend. You can add everything from your holiday insurance to clothes and toiletries.”

“When it’s time to jet off, you can check in online and download your boarding passes straight to your phone’s wallet. You’ll also get to see all the Jet2experiences that are available in your resort, if you fancy booking fun trips and days out. Live flight updates and coach transfer times are in there too, so you won’t have to search elsewhere”.

Splitwise

Rated 4.4/5 stars

“Splitwise is my go-to app when going away with my friends. It takes away the awkwardness of keeping track of who paid for what, whether it’s dinner, taxis, drinks or activities. I love that I can add bits and bobs as we go and see exactly what everyone owes, rather than trying to work it all out at the end of the trip.”

“There’s no need for endless calculations or messages back and forth about who owes who money. It’s easy to use too – I’ve even got my parents and grandparents involved when we’re away as a whole family!”

Google Maps

Rated 4.7/5 stars

“I couldn’t holiday or city-break without Google Maps! It’s a total lifesaver when it comes to getting from A to B somewhere new. I use it for everything from finding my way around unfamiliar streets to discovering restaurants, cafés, attractions and hidden gems nearby. The walking directions are really handy when exploring a new city, and the public transport options come in useful if you fancy a break from walking.”

“I’ve also recently started saving places on there before a trip, so I can build up a list of restaurants and things I want to see without having to do my research when I get there. The reviews, photos and opening times are a godsend and I like being able to check how busy somewhere is too.”

"For me, Google Maps just takes a lot of the stress out of exploring!”

Monzo

Rated 4.9/5 stars

“Monzo is one of my favourite apps for travelling abroad, as it helps me keep on top of my budget and makes things super easy and stress-free. I hate working out the exchange rate, and Monzo does all that for you, so it’s a win-win.”

“I love being able to keep track of payments in real time, check my balance whenever I want and see exactly where my money is going. It’s particularly useful when planning to pay for meals, activities and shopping while away – especially if you’re in a group with others who use Monzo too.”

Polarsteps

Rated 4.8/5 stars

“Another of my favourite travel apps is Polarsteps. I’ve only really started using it this year, but I now can’t imagine going away without it. I love being able to see my journey mapped out as I go, whether I’m island-hopping in Greece, exploring cities in Italy or road-tripping through Spain.”

“It’s a great way to keep all my favourite memories, photos and destinations together in one place, and it’s lovely to look back on trips and reminisce when I get home. I’ve got friends and family following me along on there now too, so there’s no need for constant messages and updates to let people know where I am all the time. It’s fun to use and has made documenting my adventures so much more enjoyable. It’s essentially a scrapbook in your phone!”
