The Amalfi Coast on your bucket list? Well, you can get this slice of iconic Italy on your book-it list now too! Read about the best things to do there.

The pastel-hued, lemon-scented sister destination to Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast region is new to Jet2 for 2025. This iconic Italian idyll is flourishing with holiday-ready things to do, and places that’ll beckon the lens of your camera. It’s a stunner and a half, put it that way. And don’t forget about the scrumptious food! Here are a few musts for your itinerary...

Drive along the Amalfi Coast

With a rev of the engine and a pip of the horn, you’ll see drivers eagerly winding their way around the twisting, turning roads of the Amalfi Coast. You can book tours to take a ride there with others or hire a car to venture out under your own steam. This road well-travelled promises staggering sea views from great heights, leafy hills aplenty and a smattering of brightly coloured buildings all en route. Look out for laybys where dinky vans and vendors have parked up to serve refreshing citrus granita.

Snap pics in postcard-worthy Positano

Terrific tiers of candy-pinks, baby-blues and canary-yellows give Positano its winning good looks – and you’ll recognise them from those glossy travel mags that can’t help but brag about the town. Be sure to don your comfiest shoes before heading there, as you’ll have to do a lot of climbing of steep steps to reach different vantage points. But just think of those rewarding views! As you amble, you’ll come across sprinklings of cute cafés and traditional trattorias, as well as diddy trinket shops. You can also plump for a beach day on Spiaggia Grande before tucking into bulging plates of al dente pasta. Bellissimo!

Potter around Ravello’s gardens

There’s greenery and then there are the gardens of two mega properties, Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo. The former hosts the ‘Terrace of Infinity’, where you can gaze right across the water. From blooming roses to trailing wisteria, what borders the now-five-star hotel is beautiful. And you’ll soon see why Ravello was admired by aristocratic celebs back in the day, as the popular Villa Rufolo also has a set of linger-here grounds.

History-hunt in Amalfi

The historical main town of Amalfi is not to be missed. The central square opens out into lanes flush with trees and plants, plus its own cathedral. Little eateries serve pastries and espressos in the morning, so you can start the day as you mean to go on, then go and be beside the seaside. Fancy doing something a bit different? The Museo della Carta is set in an old paper mill dedicated to A4 and more, so pop in to learn all about the production process of what we write on.

Buy ceramics and trinkets in Vietri Sul Mare

Pottery is the word on everyone’s lips here, as Vietri Sul Mare is renowned for the stuff. Expect to make good use of your 22kg baggage inclusion if you’re on a Jet2holiday, because the kitchenware couldn’t be quainter. From lemons to suns, the patterns are typical of the area, and these designs run across plates, bowls and everything in between. You’ll even find the sweetest, hand-painted vessels to hold local olive oil in too – another item you’ve simply got to take home.

Stroll around Salerno

Trace the long, sweeping promenade and you’ll be met with a whole heap of treasures in Salerno. Lungomare Trieste paves the way for walkers to get their steps in, as well as backing the waterfront where you could dip a toe. But it’s Salerno Cathedral that really packs a punch in the wow-factor stakes. It was built on old Roman foundations and now harbours grand frescoes and intricate, ornate architectural adornments inside. If that’s not enough, there’s also a castle to get your culture fix at.

Visit Paestum

Hey there, history buff – we’ve got a tip for you! Ancient Paestum is a captivating complex 35km from Salerno, home to well-preserved temples with Roman and Lycian roots. The ruins of the site were rediscovered in the 18th century and, since then, it’s been a monument of sacred plots that are well worth weaving into your agenda. Allocate time to behold what remains of the amphitheatre and town walls.

Sample net-fresh seafood

Sea bass, anchovies, clams... hello, super seafood! Daily hauls are abundant around the Amalfi Coast, as you’re so close to the water, which means fab fish dishes are yours to unlock. Specialities include grilled seafood or plates of pasta laced with these delights. And it all pairs deliciously with glasses of local wine – or even a cheeky post-meal limoncello. Cetera is one of the key resorts for fantastic fish, so rock up and be seated for top-notch nibbles.

Sail to the Emerald Grotto

As boat trips go, a jaunt over to the Emerald Grotto is essential. Prepare to be dazzled by the secluded grotto carved into the bay of Conca dei Marini. The vaulted ceilings house epic stalactites that create shadows and reflections on the water, which gives the place its mystifying allure. To enter, use the small raft at the sea entrance or via the road entrance right at the top.
