You might think of Sunny Beach as just a place that attracts young partygoers to its lively bars and nightclubs. But scratch beneath the surface and you’ll find there’s much more to explore in this Bulgarian resort.
If it’s action and adventure you’re looking for, then there are water parks, go-karting and a whole host of outdoor attractions. If chilling out is more your thing, head to beaches and spas for the ultimate relaxation.
Looking for activities while holidaying here? Here are the best things to do in Sunny Beach:
- Action Aquapark
- Luna Park
- Central Beach
- Flower Street Market
- Royal Beach Mall
- Erma Spa
1. Action Aquapark
Looking for fun in the sun? Action Aquapark is the ideal place to keep cool on those warm summer days. Spread across 36 acres, it boasts 12 slides, a 330-foot Lazy River, expansive gardens with tropical palm trees and idyllic terraces perfect for sunbathing.
Feel weightless on the 18m Free Fall slide, prove your speed against your opponents on the Multislide or jump in your rubber ring and relax in the wave pool. There’s also a splash zone and mini-zoo that little ones will love.
Need to refuel? The A La Carte Restaurant serves delicious Mediterranean dishes, Fast Food Corner offers traditional on-the-go snacks or check out the Ice Cream House for a tasty sweet treat!
2. Luna Park
You’ll find this family-friendly amusement park right in the heart of Sunny Beach. Luna Park boasts classic seaside entertainment, with everything from ghost trains and dodgems to rollercoasters and sky-high swings.
If you want to get your heart racing, join the queue for Loop Max Adrenaline or face extreme G force on Booster – these are not for the faint hearted! When you’ve finished on the rides, there’s a huge variety of food and drink available in the park. And if you’re staying until late, why not join the singers at Tony’s Karaoke Bar?
3. Central Beach
This Blue Flag beach is one of the resort’s main attractions. During the day, sun-seekers flock here to secure their spot, but with the sands stretching more than 4km, you won’t struggle for space!
You’re not short of water sport opportunities here, with surfing, banana boats and waterskiing available. There’s also an abundance of beach cafés when you fancy a spot of lunch and if you’re lucky enough to visit in happy hour, the delicious cocktails are even cheaper!
4. Flower Street Market
Find all your holiday essentials at Flower Street Market. The colourful stalls sell everything from beach lilos and sun lotion to sarongs and novelty hats. Need a break from shopping? Pop into one of the many snack bars and ice cream shops along the way to keep you cool.
Stalls are open late into the evening, so if the bouncing clubs aren’t really your thing, haggle for bargains and pick up souvenirs instead!
5. Royal Beach Mall
If it’s big-name brands and a classic shopping experience you want, Royal Beach Mall is the perfect place for you. Shop at more than 100 stores, with fashion, health and beauty labels to choose from, then relax and socialise in one of the laid-back restaurants.
When you’ve finished browsing the shops, grab a coffee and let the little ones enjoy the games and activities in Kid’s Paradise.
6. Erma Spa
Had a wild few nights on the strip? Or just want a bit of ‘me’ time? Erma Spa provides the perfect setting to kick back and unwind. The facilities are similar to a traditional Turkish hammam, with a sauna, steam room and cooling plunge pool.
If a full pamper sesh is in order, make the most of the spa treatments and indulge in a manicure, pedicure, hot-oil massage or body scrub. Towels and slippers are provided and you can relax in these in between treatments as you sip a complimentary cup of tea or coffee.
With so many things to do in Sunny Beach, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to activities. Want to see them for yourself?
