At these restaurants, dining isn’t just about ticking off a mealtime, it’s considered a work of art. It’s all about carefully selected flavours, crafted into dishes by some of the finest chefs in the world, to leave your tastebuds tantalised long after you’ve left. So, if you’re stuck on where to travel to next and fancy letting your senses lead the way, these restaurants are the crème de la crème of the gastronomic scene, in some of our most delicious destinations…
Tour d’Argent
Paris, France
Located on the banks of the Seine, this Michelin-starred great has been on the restaurant scene since 1582 and captures Parisian elegance in just one bite. When you dine at Tour d’Argent, expect an experience. With golden-trimmed floor to ceiling windows and a wraparound balcony boasting unrivalled views across the city, you’ll be thankful you get to spend hours drinking in the scenery and not just their 300,000-bottle wine collection.
Chef Yannick Franques crafts an unforgettable four-course tasting menu, if you want to leave the decision-making up to him. Previously consisting of plates such as salmon glazed in white butter and succulent duck roasted with smoked almonds, this choice is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Or, if you’d prefer to carve out your own experience, the main menu consists of explosive flavours. Settle in for a bite of goose with a truffle confit, blue lobster roasted with plum powder or wood-smoked poultry with roasted pistachios. You’ll be taking a step into the gastronomic hall of fame when you visit the Tour d’Argent.

Monte
Rovinj, Croatia
Crowned as the first ever Croatian restaurant to earn a Michelin star, we’d say that Monte has bragging rights over the food scene here. Dating back to 1985, this family-run restaurant prides itself on crafting modern plates inspired by traditional cuisine. Located just below the Cathedral of St Euphemia, in the seaside town of Rovinj, you’re greeted with picture-perfect panoramas before you even take a seat. The understated eatery has held onto its roots, just like Chef Danijel Đekić’s menus. Decorated by exposed vines in the winter and blushing bougainvillea in the summer, the comfortable setting of Monte welcomes you to the epitome of fine dining in the Adriatic.
Expect to be greeted by three menus upon your arrival, colour coded by their main ingredient. Seafood lovers can expect an array of lobster from the red menu, from an avocado, raspberry and lobster salad to lobster dumplings in a hollandaise sauce. The goats cheese strudel with pumpkin and grilled cauliflower with a mushroom toffee are current standouts on the green menu, while the tuna with grilled cucumbers and scampi dumplings make the blue menu irresistible.
Apron
Vienna, Austria
Last year, Apron reaped its well-deserved accolades in the gastronomy world, being voted one of the best of the best for Tripadvisor’s restaurants globally and making it into the 2025 Michelin guide for Austria’s best restaurants to visit. Already stamped with one Michelin star, Chef Stefan Speiser’s modern interpretations of traditional Austrian cuisine is striving for further greatness. Located in the chic historical centre of Austria’s capital, Vienna, the stylish exterior invites you to come in off the busy Am Heumarkt street and pass hours in the company of fabulous food.
When you step foot in Apron, you’ll realise that everything exudes elegance. Pops of dark green compliment the rich pine flooring, while grey drapes accentuate the floor to ceiling windows, settling you in comfortably for the upcoming five or seven courses. Less is more is the rule of thumb here, as simple dishes like carrot with passion fruit, salmon served with dates and duck with pomegranates leave your palette craving more.
Ristorante Lorelei
It’s dinner with a view and then some when you visit Ristorante Lorelei in Sorrento. Perched on the cliff edge, overlooking the rippling water of the Tyrrenhian Sea, the terracotta restaurant glistens under the Italian sun. Bask in the scenery as you enjoy Chef Ciro Sicignano’s creations. Inside, the atmosphere is just as captivating. Whitewashed throughout, you feel as though you’re still strolling through quaint, cobbled towns, with only the dark green velvet seating bringing you back to the fine-dining world. Awarded a Michelin star for their Mediterranean flavours, Ristorante Lorelei has transformed the Sorrento and Neapolitan cuisine into an unforgettable sensory journey.
Opt for the tasting menu and wine pairing to sample different pockets of the cuisine on show. Expect flavours like lime-marinated red shrimp and tagilolini (ribbon pasta) with black truffle alongside sommelier-selected wines that complement everything perfectly. Or enjoy browsing the main menu, deciding between plates such as carnaroli rice with mushrooms and nduja, potato and lobster dumplings with burrata and ginger, seared lamb with roasted tomatoes and a veal au gratin with chestnuts.
