The shallow, calm waters at Regueral and La Llosa Beach get the thumbs-up from families, while exciting water sports are a treat for thrill-seekers! 2. Hire a bike and explore

Scenic coastal routes, quiet roads and easy access to mountain climbs has put Cambrils firmly on the map for cycling holidays. A 25km-long network of well-maintained cycle paths scribble across the region, so all abilities can enjoy some sightseeing from the saddle. The seafront trail between Cambrils and Salou is tailor-made for picturesque pedals with the whole family. More of a seasoned pro? Give yourself a challenge and take on the twists and turns of the La Mussara Route.

3. Try out the water sports

Nautic Parc covers nearly 90km of the Costa Dorada’s coast, making it a hub of offshore activities. Try your hand at scuba diving and discover the fascinating underwater world or cruise across the waves on a boat trip. You could even head out fishing and catch your dinner! Paddleboarding, kayaking and windsurfing are all on the agenda too.

5. Wander around the gardens at Parc Samà

For a nature-filled day out, you can’t beat Parc Samà. Tucked away in the countryside, this botanical paradise is a feast for the eyes and senses. Wildlife fans will spot creatures of all kinds, including peacocks, turtles and deer. With a lake, waterfall and more than 800 palm trees, it’s the perfect place to switch off for a few hours and unwind.
