Top 10 travel tips from Cabin Crew HQ

Wondering how to stay comfy in the sky? Read our Cabin Crew’s top 10 tips for a smooth, stress-free journey, from smart clothing to staying relaxed onboard.

Our hard-working Cabin Crew are there to make sure you have a great journey from start to finish. And with so many flights under their belts, they know exactly what it takes to make your time in the sky as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. From what to wear to insider tips on staying refreshed, here are their top tips...

1. Keep moving

Don’t forget to change your seating position regularly and avoid crossing your legs if you can – keep that circulation moving! Try gently rolling your neck and wiggling your toes to stay comfortable.

2. Hydration, hydration, hydration

Drink plenty of water during the flight – it's always important to stay topped up on H2O.

3. Moisturise

Be sure to pamper your skin by applying moisturiser, lip balm and hand cream. Better yet, you can bag one onboard from the Jet2shop

4. Wear comfy clothing

Wearing loose-fitting clothes and comfy shoes = a comfortable flight. Although it might be tempting to travel back in shorts and flip-flops on your way home, you might not be returning to sunshine!

5. Go for extra leg room

To book extra legroom seats, speak to the Cabin Crew, or for your next flight, you can pre-book on our website or via the Jet2 app.

And now for the safety stuff...

6. Listen up!

Our Cabin Crew is specially trained to keep you safe at all times, and the team will guide you through a safety demonstration before take-off. It’s super-important that you pay attention, as knowing what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency could make all the difference.

7. Buckle up

It might seem obvious, but you’ll need to fasten your seatbelt whenever the seatbelt sign is on. It’s always a good idea to stay buckled up when you’re in your seat too. Travelling with a little one? If they’re under two, they’ll need to stay on your lap with one of our infant seat belts. Our Cabin Crew will give you a hand with this.

8. Don’t be a noisy neighbour

Flights are always more enjoyable when everyone’s kind and considerate to one another. One way to do this is making sure you’ve packed some headphones to use with your phone or tablet – no one wants to hear what you’re watching on Netflix! Don’t have any with you? Switch your phone to silent and turn on the subtitles instead. Or you can even bag some from the Jet2shop

9. Let the crew know if you don’t feel well

It’s rare, but changes in cabin pressure can sometimes make you feel strange. If you get any discomfort in your ears, swallow, hold your nose and gently breathe out. If you feel unwell, let our crew know and they’ll look after you! And just so you're aware, hypodermic needles are allowed onboard for medical use only, but they’ll need to be disposed of safely. Please let us know and we can help you with this.

Here comes the serious stuff...

10. Lastly, but most importantly, we want everyone to enjoy being Onboard Together. That's why we've created a zero-tolerance policy to protect you, and our crew, from any disruptive behaviour. When you fly, you're governed by a set of regulations called the Air Navigation Order which means it’s illegal to be drunk, smoke or vape onboard. Make sure you drink responsibly – if you’ve brought any alcohol with you, you won’t be able to drink it on the flight. You can only drink alcohol that’s served by our Cabin Crew.

And remember that there’s no smoking or vaping anywhere at all onboard, including the toilets, which are fitted with sensitive smoke detectors for your safety. Don’t forget you can’t smoke or vape on your journey to and from the terminal, or in the terminal either.

Let’s respect everyone! Our Cabin Crew do a great job, and we want the whole team to feel comfortable while at work, so don’t film or take videos without their permission. And remember – if you don’t follow the above rules, you could face prosecution, flights bans or a hefty fine. It's just not worth it.

We know you want to relax and have a nice time, so let’s enjoy being Onboard Together.
