Jetting off to Morocco on your next holiday? Don’t miss out on the top ten things to do in Agadir. From sightseeing and shopping to drinking and dining, there’s something for everyone!

Visit Souk El Had
Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of this bustling market, selling everything from spices to traditional crafts. There are multiple entrances and thousands of stalls inside, so just be careful you don’t get lost! The best souvenirs include colourful lanterns, local argan oil, Berber carpets and handmade ceramics.

Head up to the Kasbah
Explore the ruins of the historic Kasbah, AKA Oufella. From the top, you can take in panoramic views of the city, coastline and fish market below. This site once housed the old city of Agadir within its fortified walls, but much of the original structure was destroyed in an earthquake in 1960.

Ride the cable car
If you’re thinking of heading to the Kasbah, why not take the scenic route and hop on the cable car? You’ll find the cable car station around a 20-minute walk into town from the beach. It’s open from 10:00 to 23:00 and a return journey costs around £10 per person.

Sunbathe on Agadir Beach
After all that exploring, how about taking some time out and relaxing on a golden beach? Agadir’s huge 5km-stretch of beach is one of Morocco’s most popular and you’ll soon see why. Hire a lounger, roll out your towel on the soft sand or enjoy the water sports on offer.

Eat a picnic in a picturesque garden
Grab lunch or a cold drink and have a wander around one of the many gardens that are dotted throughout the city. They’re a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the vibrant streets, and offer some welcome shade in the heat.

Sample a traditional mint tea
It’s Morocco's national drink and favourite pastime! Steeped in ritual and ceremony, it’s usually offered to guests at home or in a shop. Sometimes referred to as ‘atay’, the tea is traditionally made from green tea, fresh spearmint leaves and cubes of sugar. Served from a silver teapot and tray, into ornate glasses, the tea is poured from a height to create a frothy top, enhancing its aromatic flavour. The locals love tea as much as us Brits!

Visit a rooftop bar
Soak up the skyline across the city and coastline from a rooftop bar. They can be quite tricky to find among the buildings but they’re real hidden gems! Our fave was Saykouk, which serves a menu of tasty Moroccan dishes and refreshing drinks.

Check out the Agadir marina
This vibrant hub features luxury yachts, chic cafés and upscale shops, and is the ideal place to while away an afternoon. Popular with both tourists and locals, the marina combines modern facilities with picturesque seaside charm. Grab a drink and enjoy a spot of people-watching.

Order a tagine
If you’re a bit of a foodie, then a traditional tagine is a must-try while in Morocco! These hearty dishes are slow-cooked stews named after the ceramic pots they’re cooked in. Combining meat, poultry or fish with vegetables, fruits and aromatic spices like saffron, cumin and cinnamon, tagines offer a rich, flavourful experience.

Wander the seafront promenade
Stretching for 3km along the stunning Agadir coastline, this bustling walkway is lined with palm trees, cafés and shops. It’s perfect for leisurely strolls and offers breathtaking ocean views and vibrant sunsets. Bit of an early bird or like to squeeze some exercise in while you’re on holiday? Join the locals who are out bright and early getting their morning jog or run done along the walkway! With the sea breeze in your hair, it’s bliss.
