Whether it’s your first time visiting the bright lights of Benidorm or you’re a seasoned veteran, you’ll soon realise there really is no place quite like this sensational seaside town on the Costa Blanca. From the hundreds of skyscrapers that line golden Levante Beach to its world-renowned nightlife, it’s no wonder people of all ages keep coming back year after year!
Want to learn a little more about this unique spot or get excited ahead of your next trip? Here are five fun things you can only do in Benidorm…
Visit the set of a hit TV series
Fan of ITV’s award-winning programme Benidorm? Then you’ll love spotting all the iconic locations where it was filmed. Start off in Morgan’s Tavern, setting of the infamous Neptunes bar on the show. You might not catch any of the cast belting out a tune, but you can grab a drink and enjoy one of the many great entertainers that take to the stage here.
The best part? You can stay in the hotel where the sitcom's iconic pool area is set! Hotel Sol Pelicanos Ocas boasts a huge lagoon-style pool that you’ll recognise from the show alongside a selection of bars and restaurants serving those all-important pints and cocktails. Unfortunately, though, you won’t see Mateo’s friendly face behind the bar!
Devour real English grub any time, any day
Spanish cuisine is delicious but when you’ve got a hankering for something from back home, then only the real thing will hit the spot. Full English breakfasts, bangers and mash, Sunday roasts or fish and chips – you name it, they’ll serve it! Whatever time of day, there are always hearty British favourites on the menu.
Feeling peckish? Then give Corky’s Penny Farthing or Northern Sole!
Take your pick from five amusement parks
You certainly won’t struggle to find ways to fill your days as you’ll be surrounded by some of Spain’s best amusement parks. There’s Aqua Natura and Aqualandia providing all the thrills and spills with their water slides, while over at Mundomar, you can see a whole host of fascinating animals up close.
There’s a huge wildlife park to explore at Terra Natura and at Terra Mitica, there are lots of hair-raising rides to try if you dare!
Dine in Tapas Alley
If you do enjoy a taste of traditional Spain, then you’ll want to make a beeline for Benidorm’s charming Tapas Alley. You’ll find it tucked away in the middle of the Old Town, where friendly family-run restaurants spill out onto the cobbled street. Mingle with the locals as you sample bite-sized dishes of patatas bravas, garlicky prawns and juicy meatballs.
See endless tribute acts
With everyone from Tina Turner to Elvis, The King of Rock and Roll, taking to the stage each evening, you’re in for showstopping nights of singalongs and serenades. Entertainers across all genres will have you up on your feet the moment you step through the door. Simply stroll the streets and listen out for something you fancy!
