Enjoy some me time

Check out the city

Fancy getting away from the slopes and into the hustle and bustle of a city for the day? The magnificent city of Salzburg is just a short drive away. Impressive medieval palaces are dotted between intricate bell towers and baroque buildings, and when they’re dusted with snowflakes over the winter months, they set the scene perfectly.

Wander the fairytale-like streets and immerse yourself in this Austrian beauty and all the treasures it has to offer. For starters, Mozart and the Von Trapps once called this place home, so you can follow in the footsteps of these music moguls and see what traces they left behind.

The city’s top sights include Hohensalzburg Castle which towers over the city, Mozarts Geburtshaus Museum – the birthplace of Mozart, and the magical Mirabell Palace and Gardens.

When it comes to unwinding after a busy day of sightseeing, you’ll want to grab a seat in an atmospheric beer hall and mingle with the locals. Steins of locally brewed beer are paired with bowls of piping hot, local fare and there are often live bands playing to get everyone up on their feet and singing along.

Has all that got you in the mood for a ski getaway? Slope off to Salzburgerland now…
