Paddleboarding

The newest addition to the water sports scene, paddleboarding, invites you to glide across the water and fill your lungs with fresh sea air. With only the sound of your paddle dipping into the sea, it’s a peaceful way to explore the coast at your own pace. And whether you prefer to paddle solo or glide along with a group, nothing beats soaking up the sun out at sea.

Sailing

Seasoned sailor or down for the ride? Let the wind take you on a seafaring adventure and enjoy Menorca’s coastline from a different perspective. Mahón’s harbour and the bay of Fornells are firm favourites, where you can charter a boat, join a sailing tour or try your hand at windsurfing.

Kayaking

If you’re not ready to brave the balancing act on a stand-up paddleboard, kayaking is a great alternative. Up in the north, the coastline is wild and craggy, showing off high cliffs and ochre-tinged beaches, while the south is tamer, with idyllic coves, sandy dunes and shady pine trees – ideal for families. If you’re a newbie, a guided kayaking excursion is a great place to start.

Snorkelling

Grab your mask and your fins, it’s time to explore the island’s underwater world! Swim through secluded coves and discover hidden bays teeming with fish. Snorkelling and diving hotspots are everywhere, with Punta Prima and Arenal d’en Castell both prime plots, thanks to their crystal-clear water.

Lace up those boots and get ready to hit the trails. Menorca’s rugged coastline and ancient paths make it a hiker’s paradise. Like life on two wheels? Whizz along the islands network of biking routes and explore the smorgasbord of different landscapes. There are 20 routes taking you through pine woodlands, rocky ravines and sandy beaches – all designed with cyclists in mind.

Camí de Cavalls

With over 20 sections and 186km of paths, the Camí de Cavalls boasts beauty around every corner. These trails encircle the island, tracing back hundreds of years and revealing cliffs and secret beaches that are untouched by time. Along the way, you’ll also find lighthouses, Talaiotic prehistoric sites and defensive towers.

Sunset spots

When you need a break from hiking and biking, take a moment to admire Menorca’s magnificent sunsets. Favaritx Lighthouse is a favourite, set within the landscape of s’Albufera des Grau and offering breathtaking panoramic views as the sky ignites in shades of orange, pink and red. For an unforgettable viewpoint, head to Monte Toro, the highest point of the island at 358 metres above sea level.

Great for golfers

Menorca may only have one course, but when it's this scenic, who needs more? Set among rolling hills and fragrant forestry, championship Golf Son Parc offers something for all levels. Here, you can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, a welcoming clubhouse and the perfect place to practise your swing in the sunshine. And when you’re finished? Unwind with a drink on the terrace and soak up views of Monte Toro, Menorca's summit.

Sports events

Trail Menorca Camí de Cavalls

One of the most popular, and the most challenging trail races on the island, Trail Menorca Camí de Cavalls invites athletes from across the globe to cover the 185km path and push themselves to the limit. There are also five different races varying in length and level, such as 100km, 85km, 58km, 44km and 27 km, involving running over steep hills or across beautiful beaches!

Volta Menorca BTT

The Volta Menorca BTT is the ultimate cycling event, taking mountain riders on an exhilarating journey through forests, along cliffs and by beaches. With breathtaking views and a thrilling mix of trails, it’s the perfect way to experience the island on two wheels!

Copa del Rey de Vela Clásica

Mahón is one of the largest natural harbours in the world, making it the perfect setting to host the Copa del Rey de Vela Clásica, an annual regatta. Enjoy the sight of these elegant vessels as they compete in a thrilling display of skill and seamanship. You’ll also find other festivities down by the waterfront. It’s a great way to celebrate Menorca’s seafaring heritage while admiring the beauty of the coastline.
