Flexibility? Freedom? Adventure? Every year, more and more women are jetting off on solo trips. And with Jet2holidays, it couldn’t be easier! Not only can you bag a solo traveller discount* with code SOLO30 but you’ll have access to 24-hour support with our UK-based helpline. We think it’s time to jump on the trend and add some of these secure spots to your bucket list.

Iceland
Known as one of the safest countries, with some of the lowest crime rates in the world, Iceland welcomes travellers with open arms. Base yourself in the capital, Reykjavik, and you won’t have to travel far for things to see and do. Its compact size means it's easy to navigate but you’re not short on sights either, from Hallgrímskirkja church to the colourful old town. Further afield, you’ll uncover an A-Z of landscapes. We’re talking glaciers, volcanoes, waterfalls and so much more. If you’re wanting to try and spot the Northern Lights, book one of our Discover More breaks and you’ll have a tour included in your trip at selected hotels. How’s that for handy?

Ibiza
When the clock strikes you-time, let Ibiza’s beautiful beaches and tucked-away towns be your playground. This Balearic isle is the queen of the wellness scene, packed with yoga centres, farm-to-table restaurants and spa retreats. Whether you’re embracing the bohemian nature down at one of the hippy markets or sharing the dancefloor with strangers at a superclub, you’re never far from a friendly face here. Why not hire a bike and explore on two wheels? There are flat paths that follow the coastline or more challenging routes up in the hills.

Porto, Portugal
Boasting charm and character in spades, Porto’s tailor-made for solo escapes. The city’s small enough that it’s simple to get around on foot – perfect if you don’t fancy using the public transport networks. Though these are useful and cheap too! Culturally curious? Make a beeline for sightseeing highlights like the Dom Luís I Bridge and Clerigos Tower. The food markets offer a window into local life, so follow your nose to one and get ready for a feast. We’re big fans of Mercado do Bolhão and Mercado Bom Sucesso.

Palma, Majorca
If fun in the sun is high on your holiday agenda, take a leaf out of Palma’s book. You can do as much or as little as you like here. Hungry? Take a tapas tour of Mercat de Santa Catalina, the oldest food market in the city. Tired? Roll out your towel on Can Pere Antoni Beach and soak up the rays. Restless? Take a stroll to La Seu Cathedral's soaring spires and intricate interiors. On an evening, a bit of atmosphere is easy to find, especially in the Old Town. Pull up a pew and try out your Spanish with some of the locals or simply sit back and pass the time people watching.

Corfu, Greece
Beyond the pristine beaches and historical landmarks, Greece is renowned for its ‘everyone is family’ hospitality. Embrace the go-slow rhythm on one of the islands. Downtime is the dish of the day in Corfu, one of the greenest in the Ionian archipelago. The Old Town is a great place to start, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which dates back to 8th century BC. Grab a coffee and watch the world go by or potter around the souvenir shops. You can unravel more of Corfu’s lush layers at Mount Pantokrator, the island’s highest point. On a clear day you can spot the neighbouring isles of Paxos and Lefkas from the summit!
