Elafonisi Lagoon, Crete 

A real-life cotton candy dream, Elafonisi Lagoon is famed for its powder-pink sands and clear turquoise waves. Wade through shallow waters to a protected islet, where seashells shimmer and the sunsets light the sky with every shade of blush. 

San Teodoro Lagoon, Sardinia 

As if the bone-white sands of this lagoon weren’t enough, graceful flamingos gather in the serene waters here too. Their striking pink feathers reflect in the rippling waters while birdwatchers and families flock to see the flamboyant creatures. 

Nikiti, Halkidiki

Ancient meets indulgent on the sparkling shores of Nikiti, Halkidiki. By day, navigate the hilly Old Town with its tree-capped streets and spectacular stone buildings, then when the sun starts to set, make for the modern marina and palm-lined promenade for candyfloss-coloured skies.

The Pink Lake of Torrevieja, Costa Blanca 

A vision of blush tones, this salt-rich lagoon takes on a rosy hue, contrasting beautifully with the vivid blue sky above. You’ll find it hard to believe nobody dropped a bucket of pink paint in here, but we can assure you, it’s all Mother Nature’s work. The best time to visit? Around sunset, obviously.

Burano, Italy  

The Venetian island’s rainbow-coloured houses stand out against the winding canals, not only with their adorable architecture but the pink facades too. We’re talking peachy to neon-pink shades and everything in between.  

Lake Atanasovsko, Bulgaria  

Fly into the seaside resort of Bourgas and you’ll spot an unusually pink body of water from your plane window already. This rose-hued salt lake turns blush in the summer months thanks to algae and salt crystals – that’s a sight you won’t want to miss. 

Fiskardo, Kefalonia

This beautiful village on the north coast is known as the St Tropez of Kefalonia, as it attracts glam yachting types to its harbour. The waterside restaurants are painted in gorgeous summer hues (including pink of course!) and an evening in Fiskardo offers a unique atmosphere on the island.

Es Vedra, Ibiza 

Mystical and magical in equal measures, this towering rock formation off the coast of Ibiza takes on a soft rose glow at sunset. Said to be one of the most spiritual spots on the island, it’s the perfect place for some dreamy golden-hour meditation or a bubble-fuelled picnic on the nearby viewpoints.
