Why have we launched golf package holidays with rounds included?

“We could see from our Jet2.com flight-only bookings that the demand for golf breaks continues to grow. With this demand, on top of the bookings we continue to get from groups of golfers using our flights, it made sense to combine our award-winning Jet2holidays with golf.

After settling on our two initial golf package destinations, we wanted to introduce a package holiday offering that delivered on quality and was easy to book. Our package options, with rounds of golf included, can be booked just as easily as any other holiday across the Jet2holidays programme – either online, via our contact centre or with your local independent travel agent. Once booked, our dedicated in-resort teams work hard to source the best tee times available then these are passed on to you or your travel agent within seven working days.”

What makes the Algarve and Antalya good golfing destinations?

“Aside from the well-maintained, pristine courses and having a change from your local course that you play week in week out, the main thing has to be the weather. Golf in the early and late summer period is a big draw abroad, especially in Antalya and the Algarve. Even the winter in Antalya can provide an excellent climate. It’s certainly much better than teeing off in the cold and wintry UK weather.”

What’s your favourite golf course in the Algarve?

“Monte Rei is in a different class all together. The Jack Nicklaus Signature course is in superb condition with a great combination of perfectly manicured fairways mixed in with the natural landscape. It’s easily one of the best courses I’ve ever played. Every hole presents a different challenge, especially the back 9. The range is great and so are the staff, who are welcoming, friendly and informative. The buggies have the latest GPS systems, so all yardages are covered. A drinks buggy also comes out with chilled towels to cool you down too. I can’t wait to go back!”

And what about Antalya?

“It’s difficult to say as all the courses in Antalya’s Belek resort are exceptional. If I had to pick one, it would be the Cullinan Links Golf Club. It pairs up two outstanding 18-hole courses, Aspendos and Olmypos, banking both the river and the Mediterranean Sea. The old 27-hole course was renovated in 2022 into two full 18-hole courses. The clubhouse was also fully redeveloped in line with the construction of Cullinan, a brand-new hotel which forms part of our Indulgent Escapes portfolio.

The great thing about this club and its courses is that Cullinan is not the only hotel option if you want to play here. You can also take advantage of seven-night holidays with four rounds of golf included at Titanic Deluxe Golf Belek with rounds being played across this delightful club.”

What’s included on a golf package holiday?

“All the main elements of a Jet2holiday are included as standard, such as our award-winning Jet2.com flights, transfers, accommodation and excellent customer service, but the inclusions that come as part of your golf package with rounds included varies. This depends on your hotel, duration of your stay and the golf courses you’ll be playing on.

As well as rounds being included, some also come with buggy use and driving range access to practise your swing. Transport is also provided where needed and we guarantee that you’ll not play more than one round of golf per day.”

What are your essentials to pack for a golf holiday?

“Course attire is key. These courses take pride in their quality and there is a degree of etiquette expected from players. Golf shoes and golf tees are a must too. Packing shorts or trousers depends on the time of year you’re setting off to navigate the doglegs and bunkers. It’s also a given to pack suncream and a cap for those sunny days!

If you’re wanting to bring your own clubs, you can add golf carriage to your package. This isn’t an essential as some golfers opt to hire clubs locally to make the travel to and from easier. It’s totally down to personal preference, so this is why we don’t include golf carriage as standard.”
