Turkey

When we’re talking about golf in Turkey, we mean in Antalya specifically. This astonishing area might be known for its vast beachfronts and swanky, all-inclusive properties, but its golf courses gleam with potential too. Over the past few years, it’s quickly risen in popularity as a place to practise your swing, so come and get a load of the verdant greenery around the holes of Cullinan’s Aspendos and Olympos courses, or maybe the prestigious Montgomerie. Rest assured, you can do some serious refuelling at any of the 19th holes.

Portugal

Highlight: Year-round warmth is guaranteed

The heat of the summer only mellows slightly come winter, so you can bring on the bunkers and conquer the water hazards whatever time of year you fancy here! The Algarve is a seafood sampler’s paradise, offering grilled sardines aplenty among its long lists of tempting treats. So you’ll be well-fed during your holiday. But it’s otherwise all about veering towards Vilamoura, where the pros tend to favour the play. Whether you’re at a Pestana or a Dom Pedro hotel, you’ll be well-looked after with local courses to whizz off to.

Spain

Highlight: The so-called ‘Costa del Golf’, of course...

The Costa Blanca and Costa Brava (the latter is where you’ll find the PGA Catalunya Stadium Course) both lay on a little golf for those who enjoy grabbing the clubs and heading out. But the Costa del Sol – also affectionately known as the ‘Costa del Golf’ by many – is where most people flock to for golf in Spain. And some of our hotels in Marbella even come with their green fees included. Handy, hey? Again, it’s easy here to find a championship choice in the mix, so you can expect excellent, challenging layouts – with epic scenery to boot!

Canary Islands

Highlight: Those bonus views of the glittering Atlantic Ocean

All four of the Canary Islands have bragging rights to cool courses, so you can sneak in some golf on your jollies if the mood takes you. But if you’re going specially for the sport, the picks in Meloneras and Maspalomas in Gran Canaria get gold-as-their-beaches stars from us! Championship-ranking, again, these places have plenty of credentials to show off, though the relaxing spas on offer in hideaways across the quartet of isles means nourishing any post-golf aches is a doddle. You’ve really got the pick of the bunch here!

The Balearics

Highlight: The side order of seaside scenery and pretty villages

If ‘world-class’ piques your interest, you’ll be in good company here – well, in Majorca specifically! It’s the Balearic Isle with the most to offer keen putters, whether they’re amateurs or budding semi-pros. From three to six rounds included, you can fit a lot into a five or seven-night trip as a golfer, so get used to being surrounded by mountains, watersides and leafy parkland. Want to be sure you’re in good hands? Well, these spots are where renowned architects Robert Trent Jones Jnr, José Gancedo and Dan Maples made their marks.

Greece

Highlight: Enjoying beach bliss in the Costa Navarino

Between the glistening Ionian Sea and gently swaying olive trees, you’ll stumble upon great Greek golf courses in the Peloponnese. That’s right, this is the piece of Greece that flies the flag for the sport, so it’s about time you get acquainted with these greens. The country’s first signature-designed, championship digs – AKA The Dunes – opened here in 2010, while Navarino Hills provide the most enviable, hole-in-one facilities and backdrops for players.
