Dig out the deck chair and slather on the sun cream, we’re off to Rhodes – and you’re on our VIP guestlist…
IXIA BEACH
Sand type: Pebbles
If sandy sandals aren’t your bag, this pebbly plot in Ixia could be the answer. Hire a lounger and watch the windsurfers in action – there are plenty of them around these parts! Ixia Beach has a handful of restaurants nearby too.
Mean Girls fans, make a beeline for Amalfi Coast Beach Bar. This cool, boho-chic bar has VIP written all over it. We’ve enjoyed some delicious Greek food at the restaurant here too.
FALIRAKI BEACH
Sand type: Golden
You’ve struck gold alright! With 4km of glimmering grains, sunbeds for hire and some conveniently-placed cafés, Faliraki Beach is ticking a lot of boxes right now. Plonk yourself down on that cashmere carpet and get stuck into a good old gossip mag – it’s what Greek getaways are all about!
KIOTARI BEACH
Sand type: Golden/shingle
Just a stone’s throw from Lindos, Kiotari is a haven for history buffs and beach bums alike. Kiotari Beach itself is a tale of two halves, with a combo of sand and shingle creating a seriously swoon-worthy setting.
Take a break from the waterfront and head to one of the traditional restaurants that line the promenade – we’re talking authentic blue and white décor, linen-draped tables and seafood galore.
KOLYMBIA BEACH
Sand type: Golden/shingle
Roll out your towel away from the crowds in this go-slow corner of Rhodes. Kolymbia Beach is all about lazy days but there are water sports on offer here too. Take a stroll along the sparkling sands, hire a sunlounger and admire the amazing views over Tsambika Mountain.
And, when you’ve relaxed to your heart’s content, venture into the resort of Kolymbia itself to discover a quaint-as-can-be harbour, magnificent monasteries and a sprinkling of traditional tavernas. You’ll also find plenty of shops selling the usual bits and bobs along the charming Eucalyptus Street.
LINDOS BEACH
Sand type: Golden
Step aside for Rhodes beach royalty. Lindos Beach is not only in the dreamiest village on the island, but the sands themselves deserve a standing ovation. Lounge in paradise under a parasol with views of the amazing Acropolis of Lindos, then head to the bougainvillea-draped taverna for refreshments – this is the life alright!
While you’re in town, a stroll around Lindos’ winding mosaicked alleyways is an absolute-must for lusters of all things charming. Pass under arches, marvel at floral displays and admire the works of proud local artists in galleries spilling onto the streets.
PEFKOS BEACH
Sand type: Golden
Ooh la la, she’s a beauty! The Blue Flag Pefkos Beach is a bit of a show-off with its centre-fold-worthy sands and rugged hillside backdrop. Glance out from the caramel-coloured sands at the ombré blue waters, twinkling under the sun.
If you fancy venturing from Pefkos to Lindos, why not take a glass-bottom boat trip?
So, there you have it, our line-up of the best beaches in Rhodes! Does one of these sound like your kind of place? Why not have a browse of our Rhodes flights and holidays and start the countdown to your Greek getaway today? Ready, get set, Rhodes!
TSAMBIKA BEACH
Sand type: Golden
Tsambika Beach, on the east coast, is as picture-perfect as Rhodes’ beaches get. Expect silky sands made for all-day sunbathing and bright-blue waters perfect for a dip. This golden stretch is named after the Tsambika Monastery, which is perched on the surrounding cliffside. Tackle the 300 stone steps and you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views over the bay. There’s a couple of beachfront eateries too, so you can feast taverna-style with your toes in the sand. And if you want a side of activity with your lounging, there’s plenty on offer – from adrenalin-pumping parasailing to fun for all the family inflatables.
