Tenerife nightlife guide

Planning a holiday in Tenerife? Well you’re bound to be wondering about the nightlife. Here’s our resort-by-resort rundown of the island’s after-dark delights. You’re welcome.

Ahh, Tenerife, a place where the sun shines, the sand sparkles and the scenery’s out of this world. But between green valleys and lunar landscapes lie some of Europe’s best-known neon-lit hotspots (who’d have thought it, eh!)… cue our Tenerife nightlife guide.

Playa de las Americas

Put your hands together for Playa de las Americas. This after-dark delight knows a thing or two about good times. Hen parties make a beeline for Tramps on the Veronicas Strip (where else?). This cool Tenerife nightclub blares out R&B and dance classics like they’re going out of fashion, up until the early hours.

Speaking of the Veronicas Strip, expect super-keen bar staff street-side and drinks deals aplenty along Avenida Rafael Puig. This is where the real party animals come to dance until the early hours.

More of a rock guy/gal? The Bulls Head pub is all postered-walls, quirky furniture and incredible live bands! Or for something a little different, Magic Lounge Bar will not disappoint. Think cocktail bar meets karaoke with oodles of glitz.

Ooh la la, things get a little lively along the Golden Mile. This glimmering bar-studded street is Tenerife’s answer to Las Vegas with its palm-flanked strip, top-notch shops and swish cocktail bars. It’s not the cheapest street around, so prepare for higher prices to go with the glammed-up vibe.

Costa Adeje

Playa de las Americas’ lower-key cousin has no shortage of ways to spend your evening. Catch the sun sinking down at the oh-so-chic Zambra Sky Bar, then head to one of the favourites like Café Steps or The Pub-Tenerife if you want to catch the footie. The San Eugenio area is the place for live music and cabaret so follow your ears and pick whichever bar catches your eye.

Looking for an evening that’s a little more romantic? What about a candlelit dinner in one of the local restaurants? There’s a choice of budget bites, fine dining and everything in between so there’s something for everyone.

Santa Cruz

Say hello to Tenerife’s capital. By day this colourful city offers an amazing mix of ancient landmarks, luxury shopping centres and picturesque plazas. Then as darkness falls, the crowds come out.

For bustling streets and quirky cafés that spill onto the street, it could only be the hip Noria District, and Calle Antonio Domínguez Alfonso with its buzzing restaurants and old town charm is the perfect place to start.

If lounge bars and cocktail clubs tick your boxes, then Calle San Antonio and the area that surround have plenty of options.

Puerto de la Cruz

Days in Puerto de la Cruz come in a kaleidoscope of colours thanks to the rainbow buildings along Calle el Lomo and Teobaldo Power and the incredible street art trail that crowns them. But after a busy afternoon on foot, rest them in a restaurant around Plaza de la Iglesia – Don Carlos Tapas and Wine for example! Dine as the church bells dong on the likes of pulpo a la gallega (sliced octopus), gazpacho (chilled tomato soup) and Canarian potatoes, with a cool glass of sangria on the side. And the setting? It couldn’t be better.

Ready to liven things up a little? The popular Molly Malone Irish bar on the harbour or the buzzing Bee Hive Pub can help with that!
