From chic choux buns to choose-me chocolates, fabulous financiers to petite flaky pastries, the daintiest and most delicious cakes and biscuits are at your fingertips at these five-star Indulgent Escapes hotels. So, if fantastic food of the sugary variety is at the top of your holiday to-chew list, we recommend unpacking your suitcase here and being seated...

Mayia Exclusive Resort & Spa, Rhodes

Patisseries and gelaterias are certainly two of our favourite things, and they’re combined at Canela. At the adults-only Mayia Exclusive Resort & Spa, you can experience both in taste-bud-tempting harmony, after making the most of direct beach access and two rippling outdoor pools. Rich desserts and ice creams will satisfy every after-dinner craving, though savoury crêpes are made throughout the day too.

Regnum Carya, Antalya Area

The grand total of 18 restaurants – including the beach-hut eateries towards the shorefront – makes a Regnum Carya escape extra-exquisite for discerning foodies. Here, you can bask in the six outdoor pools, the spa and Turkish bath, or even just your spacious, jade-hued room. But the icing on top of the five-star stay for us is the charming Macaroon Patisserie. Sample tempting French desserts over a tea or coffee in the cute setting, then move on to Nazar Bakery next door for flaky pastries and mini baklava.

Sun Gardens Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik Coast

The palate-pleasing La Patisserie is the pièce de résistance for sugar fiends at Sun Gardens Dubrovnik. The immaculate hotel is a member of ‘The Leading Hotels of the World’ group and sits proudly on the beachfront. While Dalmatian cuisine is served in its restaurants, this parlour of puddings showcases scoops of artisan ice cream, as well as shakes and juices for adults and little ones alike.

Titanic Luxury Collection Bodrum, Bodrum Area

The joys of Titanic Luxury Collection Bodrum begin at the on-site waterpark and in the ultra-chic rooms, yet you can be sure they flow right into All Inclusive Plus being the standard board. The plethora of restaurants and bars that are all part and parcel of this offering is outstanding but turn your attention to Caprice Patisserie to be spellbound. Open from 2:30-11:30pm, this boutique dessert outfit has a French-café feel and specialises in macarons, chocolates and milk puddings.

Kempinski Hotel, Malta

Meaning ‘air’ in Maltese, ‘Arja’ is the name of the on-site patisserie at Gozo’s Kempinski Hotel – and it’s quite simply the dream. Landscaped gardens frame the property, which sits well-located in the resort, and lures serenity-seekers into its luxury spa and wellness centre too. Though we know it caters especially well for those with a sweet tooth. Afternoon tea, pastries, tarts and other desserts of desire will beckon you to one of the tables for an experience that’s so fittingly indulgent.

Grand Park Hotel Rovinj, Pula and Istrian Coast

Given its position along the Istrian Coast, Grand Park Hotel Rovinj embraces its Italianate influences – particularly in Katarina’s Patisserie. The fondly named arm of the hotel’s restaurant repertoire makes excellent espressos in the AM and lays on a menu of refreshing aperitifs at sundown. Fresh pastries, homemade ice cream and the sort of stylish cakes you would see in a glossy magazine are yours to order. Whether you’ve enjoyed dips in the pool, pampers in the spa or sightseeing around Rovinj, it’s the place to relax afterwards.

Cullinan Belek, Antalya Area

Culinary connoisseurs, rejoice – Cullinan Belek is a Turkish delight of in its very truest sense. From mousses to mille-feuilles, cheesecakes to chocolatey treats, the patisserie is an oasis of tantalising flavours for post-golfing tee breaks or days spent lazing by the pool. The vast complex glitters in its glasswork too, so expect a modern dining environment that’s worthy of your Instagram stories. Just across from there is a chocolatier, where decadent nuts, fruits and pralines are enrobed in creamy casings of milk, white and dark. Prepare to return day in, day out...

Maxx Royal Kemer Resort, Antalya Area

The three words on everyone’s lips when they check in at Maxx Royal Kemer Resort: Le Mêlange Patisserie. Why? French-inspired pastries and traditional Turkish desserts go hand in hand here, to deliver the most scrumptious nightcap alternatives. Prefer a dessert rather than a starter or a tipple after their meal? Heading here for one of the famous eclairs is a must. Of course, the vast spa, on-site waterpark and unique MaxxAssistant concierge service are among some of the other standouts here in Antalya as well.

Lujo Hotel Bodrum, Bodrum Area

Bespoke and artisanal are the names of Lujo Hotel Bodrum’s patisserie game. The hideaway prides itself on its “life is short, eat dessert first” ethos, so, at Bluette, you can be enticed by the enchanting array of cakes, macarons, work-of-art chocolates and frozen yoghurt. Need we say more? You’ll find just as much bliss in this coffee house as you will reclining on a lounger by the three outdoor pools, in a swim-up room or mellowing in the spa.
