La Croisette vs. Le Sequet

The nightlife here is centred around two areas, and both offer something a little different. La Croisette is all about the VIP vibes, exclusive nightclubs and upmarket bars. Le Sequet, meanwhile, lends itself to more relaxed evenings, with traditional bars dotted along the cobbled streets.

Charly's Bar

Cannes' cool kids head to this cave bar in Le Suquet. If you’ve been to the Cavern Club in Liverpool, this feels very similar, with its underground setting and exposed brick walls. There’s an extensive cocktail menu and a DJ playing most nights too.

Cotton Club

Folky blues and modern jazz are among the musical genres performed at the Cotton Club. Sit back, drink in hand, while the music works its magic or tuck into some tasty tapas. The setting is so intimate that you'll be sitting just a few feet from the band and the (very) grand piano!

Brown Sugar

Brown Sugar takes its name from a song by the Rolling Stones, so expect rock-and-roll vibes. You’ll spot tonnes of pop culture paraphernalia, from vintage guitars to antique bikes. Sip on a cocktail and munch on the free bar snacks, before having a dance to some rocking tunes.

Le Bar à Vin

As its name suggests, this watering hole is dedicated to all things wine. It’s been welcoming thirsty holidaymakers and locals for the past 20 years and its popularity shows no sign of slowing! The atmosphere is cosy meets classy and you can sample a range of local labels, paired with tasty cheese and meat platters.

Palm Club

If you’re looking for somewhere to dance until dawn, Cannes biggest club is the place to be. Located on the Pointe Croisette, it reopens for the film festival in May and then continues the party all summer long. Don’t be surprised if you recognise some famous faces in the crowd, this is a favourite haunt among the well-heeled.

Morrisons Irish Pub

Affordable drinks and live music? That’s us sold! This always-packed Irish pub has different themed nights throughout the week, including karaoke and ladies’ night. It’s also a great place to catch the sport, courtesy of the large TV screen and three-hour long happy hour from 5pm until 8pm.

Happen Bar

Bringing a dash of Italian flavour to Cannes Old Town, this dinky bar and wine cellar specialises in spritzes. The menu is small, but the friendly bartenders will whip you up any drink of your choice. Get down here early to bag a table before it gets too busy!

Le Speakeasy Cannes

Seeking sophistication? Le Speakeasy Cannes has got it in spades. You can’t beat its location, just a stone’s throw from the palm-lined promenade. Follow the sounds of soul, jazz and blues music and step into a velvet-draped venue which oozes luxury. The food is worth shouting about too. We’re talking palate-pleasing dishes like lobster linguine and roasted sea bass.

Top tips

Dress to impress

Though not the case in all establishments, you’ll find many of the venues have dress codes.

Know your budget

Expect to pay a premium price at the city’s most popular bars. Want to keep costs low? Look out for happy hours and head off the tourist track.

Arrive early

During the summer months many of the clubs and bars fill up quickly, so it’s best to arrive early to avoid the queues.
