Here are some common phrases from the show, and what *we think* they mean...

1. ‘Moving loose’

Don’t worry, we’d never heard it before either. It’s George’s way of saying he flirts with all the girls on a night out.

2. ‘Turkey teeth’

Turkey the country, not the bird. This essentially refers to a set of perfectly white veneers. Whatever floats your boat, Jess.

3. ‘Mad game’

Zach is leading the way when it comes to ‘mad game’. It basically means he’s got smooth conversation and eye contact down to a tee, so knows exactly how to charm the ladies.

4. Putting all your ‘eggs in 1 basket’

Unless you’re a total newbie when it comes to Love Island, you’ll know what this means. But for those who don’t, putting all your ‘eggs in 1 basket’ means focusing solely on 1 person, and not letting the other islanders turn your head.

5. Being ‘closed off’

The new ‘eggs in baskets’, if you will. Being ‘closed off’ is very similar to the above – you want to progress things with 1 islander, and you’re not interested in getting to know anyone else.

6. ‘Lipsing’

You may have noticed the neon ‘lipsing’ sign in the villa and worried you’re no longer down with the kids. Well, we've got you... it’s just another word for ‘kissing’.

7. ‘Gucci’

You probably heard George say “it’s all Gucci” at some point during his time in the villa. It essentially means, ‘it’s all good’.

8. ‘Exclusive’

When 2 islanders are ‘exclusive’, it means they’re only dating each other but they’re not *official* yet.

9. ‘Ick’

If you get the ‘ick’ with someone, there’s no going back. It basically means everything they do starts to make you cringe, and you never look at them in the same way again. It sounds harsh, but there’s no controlling the ‘ick’.

10. ‘Type on paper’

If you were to write down everything you’re looking for in a partner, and you meet someone with all those qualities, they’re ‘100% your type on paper’.

So, to summarise...

You’re on a night out, you're doing your thing, you’re moving loose. You notice someone who’s 100% your type on paper, so you go over and chat to them. You've got mad game, so things are going Gucci, and the next thing you know, you’re lipsing. You notice they’ve even got Turkey teeth. Winner.

Things continue to go well over the next few weeks, so you put all your eggs in 1 basket and decide to make things exclusive. You’re closed off, and no longer interested in anyone else. Will they eventually give you the ick though? Only time will tell...
