When it comes to Austrian ski holidays, Kitzbühel’s got it all. We’re talking a buzzy après scene, a colourful medieval centre and tons of tranquil trails. With Jet2, you can fly direct to Salzburg or Innsbruck Airport and be on the slopes in no time. Plus, we offer 22kg baggage* and up to 22kg ski carriage*, so you can bring all your gear with you! It’s time to make your way to the mountains...
The resort
Five-star hotels, high-end boutiques, upmarket restaurants... it won’t take you long to work out why this resort got the nickname Glitzy Kitz. This area’s got the pros’ seal of approval, hosting the annual Hahnenkamm World Cup every January. This event has been running since the 1930s and will celebrate its 85th anniversary in 2025. Tickets to watch the Super-G, slalom and downhill races need to be booked well in advance and prices start from around 35 euros. It couldn’t be easier to get around on the local ski bus too, which is free with your lift pass!
The slopes
You’ll have 233km to play with here. Modern lifts and gondolas ensure speedy links to Reith, Aurach, and Jochberg from Kitzbühel. There is also 70km of cross-country trails and freeskiing terrain on offer, so it’s the perfect playground for intermediates. Warm up your ski legs on the Kitzbüheler Horn mountain before heading up the Hahnenkamm lift to test your mettle on the iconic Streif downhill course. Beginner? You can access the nursery slopes for free. Kids will be in their element on the Kitz Mini-Streif slope or in Bear Land, where they can whizz past life-size, hand-carved grizzlies. Freestyle fans should make a beeline for Snowpark Hanglalm, packed with kickers, rails and boxes. And after all that adventure, nothing can beat a hearty lunch in one of the 60+ alpine restaurants.
The après
Post-piste activities are plentiful around these parts. Catch a film at the cinema, get competitive at the bowling alley or see how lucky you are at the casino. You could also head down to the ice rink and cheer on the local ice hockey team. If you’re in the mood to party, point your ski boots in the direction of Hahnenkamm Pavillon Bar. Here, you can dance along to Euro pop. Afterwards, continue the night at Club Take Five, where resident DJs spin the decks until the early hours. The Lichtl Pub is a 1980’s time capsule, while the Cooper Bar offers a more low-key vibe. Every Thursday there’s a Tyrolean evening with regional delicacies and live music.
