DAY ONE:
Morning

Start your weekend by wandering through Murcia’s historic Old Town. Murcia Cathedral, built between the 14th and 18th centuries, is a must-see. It’s an architectural masterpiece that blends Gothic, Renaissance and baroque styles. Why not climb the bell tower for sweeping views of the city and surrounding countryside?

After your cathedral visit, take a stroll through the Plaza Cardenal Belluga, one of Murcia’s most iconic squares. Lined with cafés, it’s the perfect place to stop for a spot of people-watching.

If you’re visiting on a Saturday, don’t miss the bustling Veronicas Market, where locals shop for fresh produce, seafood and artisanal goods. Grab a cooling drink or delicious brunch on the go.

Afternoon

After lunch, head to the Real Casino de Murcia. Don’t be fooled by its name, it is in fact a stunning 19th-century building filled with intricate rooms and dazzling interiors. From Moorish courtyards to grand ballrooms, it offers a glimpse into the city’s refined past.

Evening

End the day with a leisurely walk along the Segura River, crossing its elegant bridges as the sun sets. The Puente de Los Peligros bridge is one of the most famous! If you fancy a tipple, why not treat yourself to a wine tasting at one of the charming bodegas along the waterfront?

Afternoon

Spend the afternoon delving deeper into local history. Stroll the Malecon Walk and enjoy its 18th-century promenade, before heading a little outside of the city to admire the Castillo de Monteagudo. You’ll need to hire a car for this one though or jump in a taxi! It’s an imposing fortress perched high on a hill, showcasing panoramic views.

Evening
No trip to Murcia would be complete without sampling authentic tapas. Hop from bar to bar in the Santa Eulalia neighbourhood, where you can try favourites like paparajotes, lemon leaves coated in batter and sugar – a true Murcian treat!

Don’t miss out on Murcia... It’s a city that invites you to slow down, savour simple pleasures and connect with local culture. With its magnificent architecture, relaxed atmosphere and delicious cuisine, Murcia is an ideal choice for a weekend break!
