Extreme day trips have taken over the internet, but if you want to experience the places you’re visiting without the rush, we’ve got a way that’s just as exciting. We’ve checked (and then double-checked) all our bases and destinations, and here’s a list of the places you can go to for an extreme weekend trip – no annual leave or second pair of trousers required.

From Belfast
Costa Dorada
So *technically* the Costa Dorada is not your only option, but to make the most out of the weekend (fly out as early as possible on Saturday and fly back late on Sunday night), this is your best bet. Fly and flop on one of the many beaches around here, or if you’re loving the thrills of your extreme trip, go all-out with a visit to PortAventura World.

From Birmingham
Ibiza, Majorca, Lanzarote
A bit of Spanish sun for your weekend? Oh, go on then. Flights to Ibiza and Majorca are nice and speedy, but if you don’t mind lingering in the skies for an extra couple of hours, you could be taming Atlantic waves with a surfboard in Lanzarote the same day too. Choices, choices…

From Bournemouth
Majorca
Currently offering only an extreme weekend trip from Friday to Saturday, Bournemouth is ideal for those lucky enough to work four-day weeks, or with an annual leave day to spare. There is some good news though… With its southern location, a flight from Bournemouth to Majorca is a mere two hours and 15 minutes. Give us one good reason not to book it right now.

From Bristol
The Algarve, Costa del Sol and Majorca
Local to Bristol? You’ve got three gateway options for your Saturday-to-Sunday getaway. All flights depart early in the morning, are less than three hours long and arrive to these sun-soaked destinations before 11am. Breakfast in Malaga or early brunch in Palma before lunchtime cocktails on the beach? We’re sooo here for it.

From East Midlands
Majorca
You might have noticed a certain pattern here… You can take off to Majorca from almost everywhere in the country, East Midlands Airport included. Land there bright and early, around 9:30, and kick off your weekend in style. Bonus points if you fancy a city break – 48 hours is just about enough time to catch the highlights of Palma.

From Edinburgh
Ibiza
Get started early with a Saturday flight from Edinburgh to Ibiza, arriving just before noon. Head straight for the beach and enjoy every minute on the White Isle. Your flight back is late in the evening on Sunday, so you’ve got the whole day for brunch, more lounging, or even a Sunday market visit.

From Glasgow
Majorca
Yep, it’s the queen of holidays again, a flight to Majorca gives you the most time away, but if you don’t mind leaning into the extreme day trip side of things, Glasgow has more options. Fly out just as early and come back 24 hours later from the Algarve, Costa Blanca, Ibiza or the Costa del Sol.

From Leeds
The Algarve, Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol and Majorca
Ahh, all the classics in one place. What’s even better, you’ve got two full days to explore them – that’s all thanks to those great flight times. Soak up every sunray, taste some fabulous food and take a dip in the azure waters – how’s that for weekend plans?

From Liverpool
The Algarve, Costa Blanca and Majorca
Liverpool pretty much copies the Leeds line-up, minus the Costa del Sol. The escapes from Merseyside are a bit shorter too – all inbound flights are around lunchtime. But hey, you’ll be back in time for a Sunday roast at your local. Now that’s a weekend we can get behind.

From London Luton
Majorca
Our newest addition to the base map, London Luton, currently takes you on an extreme weekend trip only to Majorca. But with this beloved gem on your radar, what else could you need? Take off to the isle of crystal-clear waters, inviting coves and hidden beaches – it’s worth it, even for just a day.

From London Stansted
Costa del Sol, Majorca, Menorca
London Stansted locals, we’ve got options for you too. To make the most out of your precious time, we recommend hopping over to the closest destinations – the Costa del Sol, Majorca and Menorca. If the longer flights don’t put you off, you’ve got another six sunny spots to choose from – Crete, Tenerife, Rhodes, Zante, Antalya and Fuerteventura.

From Manchester
The Algarve, Costa Blanca, Majorca, Ibiza
Golden sands of the Algarve, authentic Spanish scenes on the Costa Blanca, the all-day party vibes in Ibiza, picture-perfect beaches in Majorca… why are you doing just a weekend, again?

From Newcastle
Majorca
Swap the windy North East for a soft sea breeze when you take off for a weekend of pure summer vibes. With a convenient morning flights from Newcastle, you’ll be in magical Majorca by lunchtime, plus, you’ve got all day Sunday to enjoy the spoils of this isle too.
Just so you know, this is’t an exhaustive list of flights departing on weekends. We’ve hand-picked destinations with appropriate flight times to suit extreme weekend trips, AKA flying out early and getting back late (or around lunchtime) the next day.
