Jet2 recently teamed up with ITV to send stars from Coronation Street, I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, The Chase and Loose Women on an unforgettable holiday with a twist. Joined by Jet2holidays Customer Helper, Gio, they’ll take turns planning the perfect day before voting for who they think should be crowned The Greatest Escaper.  

We caught up with Gio to find out the inside scoop from his time on the show... 

Who were you most nervous to meet or work with? 

“The person I was probably most nervous to meet was Oti Mabuse, I don’t know why because she comes across so lovely on telly. I think it’s because she’s this explosive character, and I knew she was the first person I was going to interview. Naturally, because she’s the first one and I hadn’t done it before, I was nervous, but she was so lovely.” 

How did you unwind after a long day filming? 

“A glass of wine! And obviously because I was away from home, I was taking advantage of the sunshine.” 

Have you picked up any of the local lingo? 

“I was back-to-back filming, so not really. Greek, yes, because I’m actually half Greek so I’m fine in that department, but I found Catalan really hard.” 

Which celeb would you trust to organise your holiday? 

“Probably Katie Piper, her day on the show was bliss. We were on a catamaran for most of the day – it was unreal!”
