Whether you’re on a couple’s retreat, away with the gals or jetting off with your family, you can create your own capsule wardrobe thanks to ELR Style. That way, you can go from morning to evening, sunlounger to barstool, staying fabulous.
With the help of her wonderful team, Emily Lucy Rajch heads up the company. She swung by to impart her fashionista wisdom to Senior Content Executive, Imogen Goulding, for JetAway and the Jet2Blog, so that you can look your very best this summer.
Elongate your legs
“Wide-leg trousers are really flattering as they lengthen your legs. Teaming that with a bodysuit works really well, as you don’t want to wear two baggy things, ideally – so a tight top and a looser bottom are a nice combo. Same goes for the other way round, but when you’re trying to elongate your legs, this is the trick.”
Find swimwear that complements your figure
“If you’re a little tummy conscious, don’t worry – there's plenty you can do swimwear-wise. Go for a bikini bottom that’s not completely high-waisted, but one that just sits below the tummy button. Then choose a triangle bikini top. That way, you’ll feel covered but not too covered – and you won’t get a bulge in the middle, which can occur if the top and bottom of your bikini are too hugging. You might find a swim skirt nice as well, or even our best-selling Lucy shorts. They’re floaty and feminine, and such a staple from pool to out and about – perfect for day to night!
We’re also launching a skort for the first time. So that’s a skirt with shorts built into it. You get style with security, and it’s not too revealing around the tummy area either.”
Choose the right underwear
“Too tight or low-rise are no-nos. Pick something with a lace top, that’s a size up or even seamless. That way, nothing will cut into you, and any tighter dresses or outfits will hang better and look more flattering. And avoid tight bra straps too – maybe think about a t-shirt bra or even just using a bikini top.”
Fill your suitcase with essentials
“If you read my full interview in JetAway, you’ll have seen I shared my Jet2shop beauty musts for the summer. In case you haven’t checked it out yet, here’s a recap of the details:
- Jean Paul Gaultier Divine: On first spray, it was sweeter than some of JPG’s original perfumes, but that worked for me – it had a real sense of holidays to it. Oh, and just look at that gold corset bottle – heavenly!
- Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream and Brazilian Crush Cheirosa Perfume Mist: The same thing about holiday smells can be said about this pair of delicious Sol de Janeiro goodies. The cream’s ideal for when you’ve been sunbathing all day and you’re just out of the shower, getting ready for a night out – followed by a spritz of the mist.
- Clarins Lip Oil Duo: Talk about handbag necessity. This pair is ideal for keeping your lips nicely hydrated and glossy!
- Elemis Bestsellers: Travel Edition: This four-product set of essentials includes the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, which is an absolute washbag essential – it's unrivalled for removing make-up.
- By Terry Brightening CC Palette in Sunny Flash: There are four pretty-as-a-picture colours in this palette, but it’s the light pink blush that dabs so well on the cheeks for a rosy glow. And the highlighter’s the dream too."
