Corfu may be one of the greenest Greek Isles, but it’s cloaked in sprawl-on-me sands too. From pockets of pebbled perfection to buzzy beaches lined with bars and restaurants, there’s a sun-kissed spot with your name on it. Here are some of our faves…

Glyfada Beach
Recline and unwind on one of the island’s most popular patches. Blue Flag status, pristine waters and soft white sands are just a few of its draws. You’ll find sunloungers and umbrellas to rent, and when you’re ready for refreshments, there are plenty of beachfront bars nearby.

Agios Georgios Beach
Another member of the Blue Flag brigade, this picturesque plot has some A-list credentials. James Bond’s For Your Eyes Only was filmed here, so you can expect silver-screen sands as standard. The water is clear and calm, ideal for snorkelling sessions.

Dassia Beach
Nestled on the east coast, is this 2km-long sand-and-shingle beach. The sparkling sea says, ‘come on in’, so make time for a dip. The facilities are fab, with various water sports available and sunbeds to hire. If you want to escape the rays, there’s ample shade too.

Barbati Beach
This shingle shorefront has got the chill-out formula down to a T. The highlight is the is-this-real blue water, but make sure to bring some water shoes to cross the pebbles. Water sports will delight toddlers and teenagers alike, and you can even spy Corfu Old Town and the mountains of Albania in the distance!

Acharavi Beach
Families, this one’s for you! There are loungers for the lazy, shallow waters for the swimmers and a handful of restaurants when it’s time to refuel. Hire a pedalo and bob along the coast together or get competitive with a sandcastle building competition.

Canal D’Amour
Looking for love? Legend has it that if you swim here you’ll find your soulmate! This blissful bay area is enveloped by sandstone rocks, which have been sculpted over many years to create a mesmerising, natural tunnel. It’s no surprise that it’s one of the most snapped spots in Corfu, which means it’s best to pitch up early to secure a space.

Halikounas Beach
Three kilometres of glistening grains await at Halikounas Beach. It’s nestled next to Lake Korission, a haven for local wildlife, so you can switch up your bathing for some birdwatching. Facilities are plentiful and paddleboarding and kayaking and are both on the agenda.

Issos Beach
Issos Beach is your one-stop shop for all things adventure. Strong winds and rolling sand dunes set the scene for kiteboarding and windsurfing. After you’ve whizzed across the waves, nip into one of the nearby tavernas for a Greek feast. Or why not stay until sundown and make the most of the epic views?

Rovinia Beach
On a quest for beachfront bliss? Look no further. Rovinia Beach is the pot of gold at the end of a rocky path on Corfu’s west coast. Surrounded by pine-covered hills and olive groves, it’s serene to the nth degree. We recommend taking a picnic with you, as its off-the-beaten-track postcode means minimal amenities.

Kavos Beach
Good times are guaranteed down at Kavos Beach. Aquatic activities like jet skis and banana boats amp up the fun factor, but there’s ample space if you just want to take it easy and top up your tan. And don’t forget your snorkel, the water’s crystal clear!
