Taormina's inaugural gem, Grand Hotel Timeo, is about to be a summer hit for us – we can feel it. Formerly a hub of spiritual inspiration for writers and creative types, it plays on its bohemian roots while showing off the surrounding countryside. Revel in spells of R&R as you plunge into the outdoor pool or sink into a nourishing massage in the wellness spa. You could also up the ante with a tennis lesson or bike ride around the Tramuntana Mountains. 

The art-inspired Restaurante Miró is a must for gastronomic flair, and you’ll easily find a sommelier when thirst strikes. You can also feast on locally grown produce at El Olivo, which prides itself on its candlelit terraces. Who’s for a cooking or cocktail-making class?
