Best things to do in Kusadasi for families

Heading to Kusadasi with your family? Check out these top tips from our guest blogger, Kira...

Kira, from Unconventional Kira, shares her love for fashion, family life and travel on her blog. As a mum of three, finding the perfect family holiday that keeps everyone happy has been a journey of trial and error. But guess what? Kusadasi in Turkey gave her just that, an incredible mix of fun, adventure and relaxation!

Here’s her ultimate family guide to making the most of your time in Kusadasi...

Aqua Fantasy Water Park – a splashing good time!

If there’s one place you have to visit, it’s Aqua Fantasy Water Park. It’s one of Turkey’s best, and in our opinion, the best water park we have ever been to! The park is packed with over 30 slides, a lazy river, a wave pool and stunning blue lagoons.

Ticket prices

  • €35 for adults
  • Free for children under 6
  • €20 for kids aged 7-12

On arrival

After security check your bags upon entry (a quick and friendly process), you head straight in. Just inside, there's a shop where you can grab floats, swim gear and waterproof phone cases (€2). While the park provides free rubber rings and floats, we bought Nila her own for €10, as she kept slipping out of the bigger ones!

Lockers and food

  • Lockers are available (€4 for the day) or free if you have a waterpark pass included in your holiday.
  • No outside food or drink is allowed, but there are plenty of places to eat. Prices are super reasonable – there’s even a Costa Coffee (music to my ears!).

Queues? Not a problem!

Even in peak summer, we never waited longer than ten minutes for a ride, thanks to conveyor belts that bring floats back up for the next rider. A huge plus!

Turkish bath – a little luxury for everyone

If you fancy a break from the excitement, a Turkish bath (hammam) is a must-try! For a family-friendly experience, we love Hammam Kusadasi. It’s clean, welcoming and super relaxing. My teenage daughter is obsessed! The full-body salt scrub, soap foam massage, facials and body massages are our favourite.

Where to eat – Planet Yucca

This place is an absolute must for families! With live music, entertainment and a super friendly atmosphere, the staff really go out of their way to engage with the kids – they even provide colouring pages and pens. Last year, they had a Transformer who was incredible, my girls loved it!

The menu is fantastic for both kids and adults. They cater brilliantly for fussy little eaters, with plenty of simple, child-friendly options like plain pasta, chicken nuggets and pizzas. For the grown-ups, the menu is packed with delicious choices, including the most divine crab linguine – seriously, one of the best dishes I’ve ever had! Whether you’re after a hearty meal or a light bite, Planet Yucca has something for everyone and is known for being the best family restaurant in Kusadasi.

A great day out – the Turkish market

One of our favourite activities as a family in Kusadasi is visiting the Turkish market. We’ve been quite a few times over the years, and we always come away with a tonne of goodies! It’s a fantastic place to find souvenirs, clothes, spices and handmade crafts. A big tip – always barter! It’s all part of the experience and even the kids get involved, using their spending money to negotiate the best deals. It’s such a friendly and fun atmosphere, making it a great day out for all.

Family-friendly beaches

Long Beach – fun in the sun

A gorgeous 12km stretch of golden sand, clear waters and shallow sea which is perfect for little ones. With free entrance, showers, restaurants and water sports, it’s a big thumbs up from everyone.

Silver Sand Beach – a hidden gem

A quieter spot, great for young kids who love playing in the sand, and for us parents, there are always plenty of sun loungers available, no matter what time of day you arrive!

Kusadasi really is a family winner in our books...
