There’s a diverse menu of succulent meats, juicy seafood and fresh salads, but the most popular dishes include perfectly cooked lamb and local sardines. Teamed with some of the region’s finest wines, it’s a great choice for an evening meal to remember.

2. Retinto

Calling all meat lovers! Retinto specialises in high-quality meats from Brazil and Argentina. Select the all-you-can-eat option and you’ll enjoy 12 different meats served to your table rodizio style – hand-carved from a skewer in front of you. The specially selected sides help to maximise the meaty flavours and the succulent skewers will keep on coming until you’re full.

To top it all off (and if you’ve got any room left!), waiters will return to your table with a skewer of barbecued pineapple for dessert, which is glazed with sugar and cinnamon – yum!

3. Café Del Arte

This quirky, hidden-away spot has an intimate atmosphere and an impressive menu of homemade dishes. There’s only a handful of tables indoors, but plenty more outside under the swaying vine trees – they’re accompanied by blankets too so you can wrap up if it gets a little chilly in the evenings.

Alongside the delicious food and wine, there’s also a selection of handicrafts and paintings by local artists that you can buy. If you’re visiting on a Wednesday, you’ll get to experience one of their special barbecue nights which features live music and dance performances.

6. The Fisherman’s Shack

This simple seafood restaurant may not look like much from the outside, but once you’re through the front door, you’ll be treated to a bustling atmosphere and menu of seafood delights.

7. Oliveira Dourada
