So, where’s best for luxury food tourism? Allow us to whisk you away on a culinary tour to whet your appetite...
Royal Hideaway Corales Beach
Costa Adeje, Tenerife
Authentic local tasting is the plat du jour at Royal Hideaway Corales Beach, a property with its finger firmly on the food pulse – alongside having a plum Canarian postcode. The self-dubbed ‘Gastrocorales space’ prides itself on offering experiences to savour, alongside the Royal Breakfast. Talk about starting your day right. You may even see events hosted at the hotel, which have been curated with cuisine at the fore. At the very least, both El Rincón De Juan Carlos and San Hô have been awarded Michelin stars. The former promises revolutionised local classics in a smart-casual environment, while the latter has designed its global menu around intriguing takes on new-age favourites, from ceviche to ramen.

Amara
Limassol (Paphos), Cyprus
Panoramic views of linger-worthy Limassol are exactly what you’re guaranteed from the moment you step inside Amara. But what you’re also in for is a retreat where, of five restaurants, at least one also has a Michelin star to its name. Fish and seafood delights inspire nautical journeys for the palate at Nerea, the Monte-Carlo-inspired Beefbar takes steakhouse to a new level, and Matsuhisa is full of signature touches but very much originates from the same roots as NOBU. If the Michelin star really piqued your interest, look no further than Ristorante Locatelli, which has forged a menu of raw meat, palate-pleasing pastas and delicate sweet treats that wow.

Cap Vermell Grand Hotel
Canyamel, Majorca
Tapas plates and superb selections for leisurely breakfasts are two of the instant successes on the menu at Cap Vermell Grand Hotel. But as its name suggests, there’s an opulence to proceedings here, which extends far beyond the traditional architecture. Boldly presenting a dining experience that’s a cut above the rest, VORO is claimed to be a ‘gastronomic destination’, according to the property itself. You certainly won’t need to be swayed into believing that when you spy the two Michelin stars it possesses, plus the sensory, soul-stirring choices. These range from wagyu to blue crab, gazpacho to John Dory. Where to begin?

Conrad Algarve
Quinta Do Lago, Algarve
Ultra-luxurious, Conrad Algarve has thought of everything and left no consideration spared. The excellent, attentive service runs from the lobby’s check-in desk right through to when you’re served your meals, so be seated and enjoy. Here, a sushi lounge may immediately steal your gaze, but three-Michelin-starred chef, Heinz Beck, has spearheaded the on-site restaurant, Gusto. Premium wine pairings, an open-kitchen setting and an al fresco dining area are all part of the concept, though we’re particularly excited by the breadth of flavours on the tasting menu. You can also go à la carte and start with mouth-watering antipasti.

Maxx Royal Bodrum Resort
Turkbuku, Bodrum Area
Let six inviting pools and a beachfront location be the first things that tempt you at Maxx Royal Bodrum Resort, though not the last. Many praises are sung about Oro by Alfredo Russo, as it boasts a Michelin star for its classic handling of pasta, meat and vegetarian dishes, with an abundance of inventive flair for good measure. Although a lot of Italian influence is found, the fine dining is said to be international, so you’ll come across plates from a variety of inspirations. As you sip your chosen wine or tipple in the refined environment, you may also see chefs carefully preparing food, in the calmest kitchen. It’s very much worth reserving a table and being in awe of each bite.

So, which destination has that must-dine-there appeal for you? It’s napkins at the ready with Indulgent Escapes.
