Best restaurants in Parga

Of all Parga’s restaurants, where should you start? You’ll find everything from Greek favourites to international classics on this guide.

Pretty Parga beckons with its multi-coloured tapestry of built-up houses, shops and eateries in the harbour. Among the lot, you’ll stumble across plenty of the area’s top-rated restaurants and brilliant bakeries.

Quite obviously, Parga’s going to be big on Greek food. But you’d be surprised by how many Italian cuisine options there are as well. You’ll be surrounded by carbs, we can’t deny it, but at least you’ll have the good old-fashioned Greek salad to bail you out.

Here’s our list of the ten best Parga restaurants that’ll leave your mouth watering until you visit:

Olive Tree Restaurant

Set your satnav just up the hill from central Parga to the four-star Adam’s Hotel & Suites, where the Olive Tree Restaurant calls home. Expect a peaceful dining setup with dishes that are all about championing local produce. Home-grown meat, freshly-netted fish, virgin olive oil, herbs from their garden, Greek wine – that’s the gist here. Each flavour has been innovatively used to create fine fusions of the country’s most traditional dishes and combinations. There’s even a menu of delicate desserts to share or go for solo!

The Meeting Place

Laid-back and easy on the wallet, the Meeting Place is quite simply somewhere for no-frills grub and a good natter. You’ll be mingling with the locals in no time here. Over a pint of local beer or a glass of vino, you can also tuck into platters of breads with dips, traditional salads and mains served with garlicky potatoes.

Christos Tavern

Whether you go for lunch or dinner, you’ll leave this terrific tavern feeling full and happy. The plush waterfront setting lends itself to serving the fresh seafood that it does. You can have it as a platter or within ribbons of luscious pasta. Crispy whitebait, chicken souvlaki and Greek salads topped with sizeable slabs of feta are also staples. Can’t decide what to have? Solve that by ordering a starter and a main.

Sakis

After wandering past Parga’s Venetian Castle and the warren of winding streets beyond, you’ll find Sakis, a restaurant that seems to be at the top of it all. It’s classic in looks – think whitewashed building, gingham tablecloths, blue shutters and draping foliage.

As for the food, where to begin? It’s a great example of a Parga restaurant that doesn’t do things by halves. Grilled lamb chops and octopus come with fries, tomatoes, leafy greens and rice. Rich Greek pies and lasagne also rock up with a side of chunky chips! If that’s not overload enough, loosen the belt a little to make room for a doorstop-sized helping of baklava with ice cream.

To Kyma

Like a bit of variety? We do too. That’s why To Kyma is another firm fave. Struggling to decide on just one dish? Why not order a few tapas-esque starters and have a bite or two of each? Stuffed vine leaves, halloumi in honey and spinach pies are solid ideas. You’ll have a choice of meat souvlaki and gyros here, if you’re going all-out Greek, but the oily salads are bursting with olives, red onions and feta too.

Persuaded by Parga? Follow your nose to this dreamy destination and prepare to be enchanted by both its dashing looks and great range of eateries.
