Majorca

Oh the joys of Majorca know no bounds. Just when you think you’ve ticked off all its best bits, another gem comes into view. Secluded coves lapped by turquoise waters are one of the top draws here, but there’s seductive hinterland to discover too, along with quaint seaside towns.

Embrace your inner explorer and zigzag through the island’s dramatic terrain, seeking out epic Cap de Formentor and sensational Sa Colabra. The Algarve

It’s no secret that the Algarve is a holiday honeypot. More than one million Brits head here every year, as this slice of southern Portugal has hit the sweet spot. It’s got the perfect marriage of stunning golden beaches, backed by ochre-tinted cliffs, quaint fishing villages filled with time-worn relics and unbelievably tasty dishes.

Go to the Algarve in June when temperatures hit a lovely 26°C and the Atlantic is a couple of degrees less! Work your way along the coast, ticking off Praia da Marinha, Praia da Falésia and Ilha de Tavira, a trio of the best beaches in the area.

Costa Blanca

The Costa Blanca does two things well – beaches and vibrant resorts. Benidorm is the headliner here if you’re after lively nightlife and fun-loving attractions, while Altea provides a more authentic Spanish experience. Whichever resort you choose to base yourselves, you’re in for a treat when you visit the shoreline. There are more than 170 beaches to choose from here, many with Blue Flags, ranging from peaceful unspoiled coves to fun, family-friendly spots. This part of the coast is vibrant throughout summer but come in June to beat the crowds!

Tenerife

Yes, Tenerife has white sandy beaches in abundance, but there’s much more to this Canary Island than its wonderful shoreline. It owes its amazing otherworldly landscapes to the volcanoes that have stood here for thousands of years. When you’re not stretching out on the glorious sand, spend your days exploring epic mountains, lush forests and rock formations. Have time for more adventures? Swap Teide National Park for historic towns – La Laguna and La Orotava are two beauty queens worth travelling to.
