Upping the ante for the bucket and spade brigade is Italy, a country that excels at wonderful waterfronts without leaving you jostling for space. And the new-for-2025 Amalfi Coast is home to oodles of ‘spiaggias’ (AKA beaches), all ready for you to sprawl out on. So without further ado, here’s where we recommend unwinding in the rays...
Spiaggia di Fornillo
Positano’s second-largest beach is positively radiant. She’s a beauty for a handful of reasons – the first has a lot to do with it being sandwiched between historical towers, then just look at those twinkling turquoise waves! But the list goes on, spanning the restaurants that line the plot to the dedicated space for loungers. Plus, come summertime (usually at the end of September), an annual Fish Festival is held there!

Spiaggia di Positano Marina Grande
Holidaymakers flock to Positano’s main beach – yep, it’s a popular patch with the chill-out seekers. Again, its blue-as-they-come water draws you in, plus you can rent a sunbed to sprawl out on all day long if you like. And you can’t miss it – Marina Grande’s darker sands contrast nicely to the pops of colourful, striped parasols. It also doubles as a springboard for boat trips that set sail from the resort, so you could opt for AM R&R and PM exploration.
Lido di Ravello
It’s all very artsy and chic in Ravello – a discovery you’ll make within moments of setting foot on the sand and pebbles. Generally quieter than some of the Amalfi Coast’s beaches, nestled away between the cliff faces, this blissful option boasts staggering scenery to boot. You’ll also find a laidback, cosmopolitan club there, where a vino in the sun might just entice you back on dry land after a dip. Or who’s for hiring a kayak and testing their skills?
Spiaggia di Marina di Praia
Slotted between Praiano and Conca dei Marini, you’ll come across this diddy beach. It couldn’t be much more tucked away if it tried, between two rocks, but it’s worth plonking down on if you don’t mind the descent. Moored boats and umbrellas add to the eye-catching hues, and it’s another with a mix of sand and small, black pebbles. The whitewashed buildings that decorate the surroundings remind you of your position along the dreamy Amalfi Coast – holiday snaps, ahoy!
Spiaggia di Atrani
Family-friendly, clear water is served. Atrani is a modest city that neighbours the town of Amalfi, so it’s a winner if you’re staying centrally. You’ll notice the handy car park too. Why are we a bit obsessed with it? It’s postcard-pretty, houses plenty of sunbeds for all to use, and it’s kitted out with a restaurant that cooks up lunchtime morsels as well as bigger dishes. That’s not forgetting the pastel tones of the awesome architecture standing just above you. Idyllic or what?
Spiaggia di Arienzo
About 300 steps lead down to Arienzo, a seafront spot best known for its beach club. It isn’t the easiest to access on foot, so you can also enter it by boat. Half of it is free to laze on and the other half is a private area, where you can delight in light bites throughout the day. You’ve got the restaurant and snack bar to thank for that, or you might fancy a glance at the cocktail menu. Go on then...

Spiaggia di Marina di Vietri
Wide, sandy, crystal-clear... oh, they’re just a few words that spring to mind when we think about the beach in Vietri Sul Mare! If you embark on a good old-fashioned Amalfi Coast road trip, it’ll be one of the first seasides en route, and it’s a family fave as well. It tends to get a bit busier than the others, so it’s best heading here sooner rather than later to bask in those sunbeams. The town is about a ten-minute walk away when you’re up for stretching the legs as well.
Grabbing the sunhats and swimwear as we speak? We’ll catch you by the waves!
