Santa Cruz de la Palma Beach

This man-made beauty replaced the old, pebbly plot and promenade that lay before it, and has brought Santa Cruz de la Palma back into contact with the Atlantic for the first time since 1949 – a game-changer for the capital! At 1,200 metres long and 50 metres wide, you won’t struggle for space here either, whether you’re stretching out, getting involved in a game of volleyball or surfing the waves.

Puerto Naos Beach

Biggest beach on the island? Tick. Blue Flag status? Tick. Water sports? Tick, tick, tick! When it comes to days on the sand, Puerto Naos beach reigns supreme. With twinkling black sand and clear water, it’s ideal for swimming and sunbathing, especially with little ones. Behind the beach, a palm-lined promenade shows off restaurants, bars and cafés where you can dabble in the local cuisine.

La Zamora Beach

As you make your way down the cliffside steps, you’ll spot the magnificent emerald water and striking black sand to your front, and a flurry of banana plantations behind you. The beach itself is split into two, Zamora Grande (Zamora big) and Zamora Chica (Zamora small), both of which can be accessed on foot at low tide. When the tide’s high, it’s a favourite with surfers!

Chaco Verde Beach

This cool cove is a favourite with families thanks to its sheltering rocks and handy walkways that make it easily accessible. The sea is often calm too, so pint-sized paddlers can safely take a dip. If that wasn’t enough, backing the beach is a snack bar selling nibbles and drinks – ideal for when hunger calls! Along with parking at either side, the bus runs directly here too.

If there’s one spot that shows off La Palma’s wild and wonderful beauty, it’s this one. Expect a soul-stirring backdrop of frothy waves and towering cliffs that’ll take your breath away – it'll come as no surprise that it’s a favourite with beach bums, surfers and naturists. This is nature in its purest form.
