Beaches and activities to enjoy in Menorca

Heading to Menorca for a break? These are the best beaches and activities you should check out while your there…

Charming Menorca is much more laid-back and low-key than its Balearic island neighbours. Its UNESCO-protected landscape has all sorts of hidden gems to explore, and the glowing golden beaches are just the start. However you choose to holiday here, it’s guaranteed to be relaxing, picturesque and full of Spanish charm!

Soak up the sunshine on the beaches

Cala de Binidalí Beach

The island is ringed by beaches and unlike in Majorca and Ibiza, the serene shores here are rarely full. Many come with Blue Flag status too, so you know they’re clean, tidy and great for families.

It’s hard to narrow them down but here are just three of our favourites:

Cala’n Bosch

Cala’n Bosch is a much-loved beach resort for the dreamy greenery of its coastline, complemented by a shimmering marina. It’s got all the ingredients for a classic beach day out, including plenty of amenities on hand and a bright turquoise sea that’s ever so inviting. Sunbathe, take a dip, leaf through the pages of a good book – it’s totally up to you!

Punta Prima

Right down on the south coast, you’ll find this gem. It’s south-facing so it gets the sun all day long – perfect for sun-worshippers. It also holds Blue Flag status for its pristine shore and handy facilities. Families love it here thanks to its soft white sand and gently shelving sea. Feeling peckish? There’s a great selection of cafés and bars just steps from the sand!

Cala Galdana

This horseshoe-shaped bay is as pretty as a picture and has plenty going on to keep the whole family entertained. Its aquamarine sea and ice-white sand give it a Caribbean feel and it’s also been awarded a Blue Flag so you know it’s in tip-top condition. Boat trips, water sports and scuba diving keep boredom at bay and when it comes to lunch, why not make use of the shaded picnic tables?

Action-packed days out

If you can draw yourself away from the beautiful beaches and take a break from sunbathing, these are the perfect activities to get you moving and seeing more of Menorca’s spectacular scenery.

Hire a mountain bike or bring your own and get out into the island’s rolling countryside and soak up the clean, fresh air. You’ll find routes both inland and on the coast that are great for all abilities. Pass traditional towns and hidden-away coves along the way, making time for a pit-stop to take in the views and snap some epic photos!

Golf Son Parc

If you prefer to explore on two feet rather than two wheels, you could try a spot of walking or hiking. Don your comfortable shoes and get those steps in! Up for your own fitness challenge? Why not conquer the heights of Monte Toro? At over 1,000ft tall, it’s the highest point in Menorca. Admire the views from the top – there’s even a café and a small church up there.
