Chamrousse

Tucked into the beautiful Belledonne mountain range, Chamrousse is a fantastic place to carve some snow. This resort is great for both beginner and intermediate skiers, with a few tough runs for the more advanced visitors out there. There’re even a few Olympic-grade slopes to test your mettle against.

This resort offers winding runs through thick forests, and it doesn’t get much more picturesque! After a long day of skiing, you can chill out at the local bars and restaurants. While this resort isn’t known for its après-ski, there’s still a lively scene to check out when the sun goes down.

Vaujany

Sitting in the central belt of the French Alps, this resort can be easily reached from Grenoble. Vaujany is a peaceful little town, with an excellent selection of runs for beginner and intermediate skiers. It’s a top-notch choice if you’re still brushing up on your skills. Complete with 46km of downhill piste, there’s plenty to discover.

What’s more, Vaujany is jam-packed with traditional houses and historic buildings, just waiting to be discovered. So, when night falls, explore the quiet town, settle in for a delicious meal and perhaps a drink of two.

Les Deux Alpes

As one of the Alp’s most cherished ski resorts, you know you’re onto a winner with Les Deux Alpes. Home too Europe’s largest skiable glacier, it’s got all the trappings of a memorable trip.

Thanks to the resort being accessible from Grenoble airport, planning your way to Les Deux Alpes is a dream. And when you arrive, you’ll be greeted by superb snow conditions, staggering scenery and a varied selection of runs for beginner, intermediate and advanced skiers.

Chamonix

What better place to ski than at the highest summit in the French Alps? If you can’t think of any, then you should probably pick Chamonix for your ski adventure.

With a vast number of runs for all skill levels, plus a charming town with a breathtaking backdrop, it’s no wonder this is one of the most popular resorts out there.

Once you’ve done your thing on the slopes, head down to the pretty town. Here, you can wander the streets, check out the traditional buildings and soak up some of the culture. Music connoisseurs will be in for a treat when they visit at the end of March or early April. The famous Chamonix Unlimited Festival is set in the heart of the Chamonix Valley, at the foot of the stunning Mont Blanc.
