A quick Q&A with Charity Shop Sue

Holiday mishaps, favourite destinations and dream travel companions – we caught up with Charity Shop Sue at Leeds Pride 2024 to talk all things holidays! Read on to find out more...

In between her legendary performance on the main stage and joining us in the Leeds Pride parade, we managed to grab Charity Shop Sue for a quick interview to talk all things holidays!

Sue, how are you feeling and how’s it been with Jet2 today?

“I’m alright, I’m loving Leeds and this Pride is probably one of the best I’ve ever been to. I love the fact that you can win an extra 500 quid, although Jet2 should just automatically give it to me because I work for charity.”

Nice try, Sue!

Where’s your favourite place to go on holiday and why?

“Always Ibiza. It’s the vibe and the people – I love it!”

Have you ever had any holiday mishaps?

“You know the right questions to ask! So, I was in Greece, and I’d had a lot to drink, so I went back to the hotel and got locked out of my room – no biggie! Until I looked down and realised I had no clothes on. So anyway, I went down to reception, picked a leaf from the plant pot to cover myself and tried to get a key to my room. All of sudden, one coach, two coach, three coaches – it was a stag do!”

Awkward.

What are your essentials to pack for a summer holiday?

“Well, you know, I always pack protection for my skin. When I was younger, I slapped the oil on, but these days I like protection.”

What’s your favourite thing to do on holiday?

“You don’t need to ask me that twice – it's having a Piña Colada by the pool!”

What’s your dream European holiday destination?

“Santorini! Everyone’s going this year, I’m so jealous.”

Who would be your dream celebrity travel companion?

“Without a doubt – Kerry Katona. The way she has fun in those Iceland adverts, I knew that’s a girl I’d like to go on holiday with. Kerry – are you up for it?”

Now for our quick-fire questions...

Beach or pool?

“Pool.”

Beer or cocktail?

“Cocktail all the way!”

Sunrise or sunset?

“Sunset, because I don’t like getting up early.”

Sightseeing or sunbathing?

“Oh sunbathing, darling. With a good magazine."

Michelin-starred or street food?

“Chips.”

You can catch Sue at Manchester Pride on the 24 August 2024!
